2010+ TRD Supercharger

I was at local Toyo dealership yesterday, and the sales people were assuring me I could get a supercharger on my 4Runner Limited if I so wanted....but a little research online suggests otherwise. Is this still in limbo? Anyone have any hard evidence that a SC is imminent? It's a deal maker for me to get a 4Runner if I can supe it up!

Why don't you offer to place an order for a new LE with a S/C, and let us know what happens?

Best thing about this supercharger is that you can still put regular unleaded in your fuel tank without fear of damage to the equipment!

Well, remember these were SALES guys, so I think they would've said they could outfit it with a set of wings, a rail gun, and have it dipped in gold if I would've closed the deal right then and there...in other words, they are far from a definitive, reliable source despite wearing red Toyota shirts.

I've talked to various toyota engineers over the last year about other things but when I remembered to ask about the SC they all said it was coming....soon. :deadhorse:

Now that they put a fork in the FJ it only makes sense that more attention will go into the 4R.

I really hope you're right. When I test drove the 4Runner Limited yesterday and "punched it" on an open stretch I was... underwhelmed. Other than that, I was impressed with what you get the for the $.

Could this be it? The video labeled "next gen supercharger", the guys mentioned this is the final unit. He also mentions a 30% increase in power.

That's the one. He mentions the FJ specs though.

I remember the 4th gen had the same V6 as the Tacoma but the S/C still didn't fit in the 4Runner.

I drive a 2003 Tundra V8 that I've upgraded with JBA headers, CAI, and Borla exhaust. I'm going to keep it for general truck purposes, but I want something newer, more airbags, and better economy but still with off road chops when necessary. Oh, and a supercharger.

CARB document from November 2013

This specific document clearly indicates that it is not for new vehicles, but rather to be added as an aftermarket part. That's not to say that Toyota isn't working on separate certifications and applications for a factory option, but that would be pure speculation.
