The "Discontinued" SC part # lists the same compatible vehicles.
I believe we are suspecting some kind of revision has been made during development, and progress might actually be happening!
I thought development of this SC died at TRD a while back save for the few TRD demo trucks that have been known to have the Dual-VVTi SC installed. Not holding my breath, but this might actually happen!
And I thought T4R windshields and BFG tires were draining my wallet! Better double-up on my savings deposits!!! :thumb:

While at SEMA last week, I learned that Toyota will not be doing the SC for 2010+ V6 engines.
Toyota killed the FJC, now they killin' the supercharger. Even worse, they are putting a BMW engine in the FT-1.

Yeah, figured as much when Toyota introduced their "ValveMatic" which is similar to BMW's craptastic "ValveTronic"
Seems like Toyota is learning all of BMW's bad habits unfortunately.

Interesting about SEMA...I have to admit that in addition to checking this thread repeatedly (and to no avail) over the last couple years, I would regularly check the TRD website and select my year and model for a parts search. A couple weeks ago I put in the usual 2012 and 4runner, and the last part was a supercharger! It listed it as 'D' for discontinued and offered no other info which didn't make sense since it was never offered in the first place. Today, it is still listed and has the 'D' for discontinued BUT a price is listed at $5300.00!!!!! So, TRD is updating their site with never offered products and listing them as discontinued but now they have updated the never-offered-discontinued-product with a price!?

SO TIRED OF SPECULATION!!! Can't wait for TRD to get off their ass and give us some info on what they are going to do. I mean all the way back to 1996 they make superchargers for our rigs so why stop now?
A 4Runner with a supercharger would ultimately be complete IMO and really make it stand out. :bigok:

You know what I'm done praying for superchargers. What I would like to see on the new 4Runners would be the tacoma direct injected engine with at least a single turbo on it. Wishful thinking but it could be done.
It would be good for gas mileage, torque, and performance in higher altitudes where naturally aspirated engines suffer.
