As a point of reference there are currently two superchargers available today for the 1GR dual VVTi motor (the one in the 5th gen). They are both about $8,000usd by the time you get them shipped.
Bullet Cars - Also recommends/requires? upgraded internals to lower compression and add stronger rods and a piggy back ECU. Claims to make 240hp at the wheels
Bullet Cars - Supercharger Kits Toyota* Hilux Prado 2011 - current model DVVTi 4.0 litre V6 (1GRFE) Toyota Prado
And RGM out of South Africa. Toyota Prado
They're claiming 437hp at the crank and 256hp at the wheels. (I suspect the crank calc is WAY off. 40+% driveline losses is hard to believe.) The same dyno claim is from 174rwhp to 256 rwhp. No info on the website on internal upgrades. They also use a piggy back ECU that's supposedly plug and play. They also delete the cats and use a high flow exhaust (not gonna fly in the USA).
Just something to compare as there are alternative superchargers for the 4.0L dual vvti- but none currently easy to source in the USA nor are they EPA/CARB legal.
Also.. they appear to be centrifugal superchargeres. Which are a totally different animal than a positive displacement rotor/roots style. Centrifugal are great for high HP/racing applications. They make great HP and move gobs of air efficiently once spun up to speed. It's more like a belt driven turbo compressor. The positive displacements should have a flatter torque curve, more geared towards drivability vs racing... I would much rather have a positive displacement blower in this application.
