Factory Navigation is OPTIONAL on the 2011 5th Generation 4Runner.
Just order one without it.
I would also order it w/o a moonroof to get the extra headroom and don't have to worry about the moonroof being stuck.

Not to mention the fact that the Nav stereo is pretty awesome for a factory system.

harper7 bought his limited with Nav, he pulled it out sold it and then put in a Pioneer avic z120BT. fwiw. Check out his build thread, it's all in there..

I have an '11 Limited w/ Navi and like it. Like most systems, it has it's downsides, but overall, it's a very clean look and has never gotten me lost.
My recommendation is to get all the options...navi, sliding tray, etc. As KC said...better to have and not need.
Oh...and as some people have learned the hard way, if you get the truck withOUT nav, you can NOT put in a factory nav later due to the wiring harness. Plenty of threads on that. So you'd definitely be going with an aftermarket.

Might be just a "little" off topic, but I also noticed on my factory NAV, that you have some other cool features in addition to NAV. You have the fuel consumption graphs and the maintenance reminders as well. Overall, I'd have to say I'm pretty satisfied with it. It took some tweaking of the settings to get it the way I liked, but it's been right on target every time. I remember another poster saying that weren't happy because it didn't show all the street names. Mine always has, but I noticed if you use that "+" and "-" on the screen to "zoom in/zoom out" you get more information. The more your "zoomed in", the more street names you see. It seems to work very well for me. When I bought my truck, the ONLY one the dealer had on the lot was the Limited with NAV. So, I kinda got it by default but don't regret it a bit.

I did the same thing as harper7. Liked the factory nav. But love the pioneer more. Mainly for it's ease of iPod use. Navigation is ok for both units. iPod interface from the factory nav sucked.

I was critical of the NAV, but I really like the 2011 version. It seems accurate and has been very useful.
The interface is no Apple iPad, but its one of the better ones available. I have been very pleased with the whole system, except the voice command sequence is lacking. Someone needs to make a natural speech interface - until then its pretty weak.
The car makers should all just install iPads and mobile hotspots in every car and be done with it.
I decided to just connect my iPod with an accessory cable 3mm in front of the gear shifter. Control the tunes from the iPod device.
