I recently traded my 2011 SR5 for a 2010 trail edition with all the goodies I want, and none of the crap I didn’t. (ex: nav)

In the couple of weeks I’ve had it, I’ve noted some differences. (besides my balls seeming bigger because of the much more aggressive stance and style.)
The horn in the 2010 trail sounds like a queef compared to the one in my 2011. THAT, is one thing that is going to have to be changed with a quickness. (any suggestions?)
Whatever mojo that was supposed to have been routed to the horn, has apparently been sent to the stereo. Mind you, I did not get the 15 speaker JBL , but man is there a difference. In my SR5, I could barely hear a difference if I turned on party mode, now there is partay in party mode. The sound was just utter crap in my SR5. This one is night and day better comparatively. It still needs improvement. Kappas are already ordered, but I can cope. So this leads me to this question. I’m assuming there wasn’t an eight speaker JBL option, so is the B style head unit really THAT much better?
The drawer system in the rear, well…. the jury is still out on that one. While it did give me a reason to get rid of my Elkhart plastics cargo caddy (read my review on amazon), I am pretty sure I’m going to get rid of it, and do a lockable drawer thingee. We’ll see how functional it is in time.
Optitron vs non-Optitron, my son sums that up it up best. Before I got to the dealership the salesman had my 17 yo son drive it up to the building. (which is weird because usually they want ID and insurance) He texts me, “these gauges are sick as fu%@.” To which I text back, “He let you drive MY vehicle?” He was right though. The only conundrum I have with the multi terrain select and crawl control knobs being where they are is I still don’t know where to put my sunglasses. I’m discombobulated. :crybaby:
I haven’t had it off road yet, but it rides nice. It definitely needs a lift and new shoes for sure.
Man, I forgot how much I missed the moon roof and the volume control on the steering wheel from my 06 sport. (Note: never downgrade options you like just to make a trade, even if your ex-wife has fu%&ed your credit, and your lease is up.)
The Bluetooth is SO much better than using the cable. You have to watch it though, I was throwing a box in the back and opened it up and it picked up the last youtube video someone had me watch at the bar the night before. It was a parrot who’s owner apparently loves that song let the bodies hit the floor. (funny as hell, funnier just add alcohol) So it may be awkward if you get in the car with your girlfriend, and the last thing you viewed was porn. Or a business client and the last thing you listened to was 2 live crew. (although, the later might be a good ice breaker)
For some reason the liftgate in the 2010 trail seems lighter than the 2011 SR5. I’m not sure why that would be, but it’s welcome. I still wish it was a swing door.
I need to sticker up and let the mods begin. Funny, come to think of it, another difference is that I didn’t do much to the SR5. I never even named it. Hell, I never threw out the shifter knobs when I bought my Icon knobs. It was like in my subconscious I knew it was going to be traded.
I guess I’ve gone on long enough.
