2011 Toyota 4 Runner - Random braking problem

I have a 2011 Toyota 4 Runner with a 2 1/2" factory lift with about 30,000 miles. I have experienced on three instances the front tire on one side braking while cornering. Always happens on the outside tire and last about a 1/2 second, which is enough to pull you over either the center line or fog line. I took it to the dealer and they ran their scans and found nothing. Also, I took to Les Schwab and had them check for alignment issues, which showed nothing and turned up perfect. They guy told me to just slow down on the corners.

Help! Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what have you done or learned about it or to correct.

No such thing that I'm aware of (the "Factory" part).

Likely need to do a Zero Point Calibration?

Like Randy said, you need to do a zero point calibration (the outside wheel braking is the vehicle stability control), and there is no factory lift.

Thank you for the zero calibration info. Yes, you are correct there isn't a factory lift. It was actually done at the dealership.

And that's the difference from something that Toyota would do at the factory vs. something the monkeys at the dealership would do.

I'm seriously shocked your dealership would sell the vehicle with a "Dealer Installed" 2.5" lift, but not perform a zero-point calibration to maintain the VSC and other nanny systems that rely on having a known X-Y-Z zero point reference. Could even be a liability issue IMO (I'm not a lawyer in the least!).

You still have 6K left on the 36K Toyota warranty - I'd demand your dealership perform a ZeroPoint Calibration under warranty since the lift was included as part of the new-car sale (and not something you added yourself or via a 3rd party).

The calibration itself is a pretty easy procedure, but a few steps must be followed to the letter for it to work properly. Many have DIY'd it w/o issues..
