2013 FJ Summit - 5th Gen T4R

I've made arrangements to get ball caps made with the T4R logo, primarily for those T4R owners going to the Summit. They'll be black hats, with white embroidery. Cost me $12.00 each, so that's what I'd like to get when we get to Ouray. If interested please let me know by this Sunday so I can set order quantity Monday.

What channel will you have CB? You will still have CB i think even with your ham setup? Sure you will.

Oh yea,still have a CB . I ditched the Cobra 75 for a Midland 75-822 though this spring as it's much louder and easier to use for me . I guess we can decide CB channel when we run some trails. In the town of Ouray there is cell phone coverage and how we communicated last year as a CB doesn't reach very far in the mountains like a HAM can.

Do some of you experience guys think a completely stock SR5 4x4 would be fine on the alpine loop? Or are there any other good trails for stock rigs? Pikes peak same question?

A lot of the alpine loop looks like a normal gravel road from the pics I've seen.

We're going to add "FJ SUMMIT - OURAY, CO – 2013" on the back of hat, price goes up to $15.00. Hoping that's OK with you all.

Alpine loop would be no problem. Almost all the trails in the area are easy.

Good to hear, I have so vacation to burn between now and end of August.

Hoping to do all my lift and tires before summit of next year pending tire wear and stock prices!

I got an email from Jim this afternoon asking me to be the trail leader for the Alpine Loop run on Saturday morning. I'm hesitant because that's where I lost a damn shock last year!

Also, there's a small chance I might not be able to make it due to work commitments. I'll keep you guys updated, but the timing of a couple of proposals might fall square in the middle of the Summit. :moping:

They have these new things now,.....it's called air travel. Fly her both ways and you drive it. It's 10 times more fun for both of you, ask me how I know.

Now on a keyboard instead of phone. Pikes Peak you can do in a lowered civic. I think it is closed now due to fires, but it is paved to the top. As long as you know how to use 1st gear on your auto trans for engine braking, you'll be fine. If not, a friendly ranger with an IR thermometer will inform you.

As far as the San Juans, the only trails that would give me pause in a stock SR5 are Poughkeepsie and Black Bear Pass (because I haven't done these yet). The rest of the MANY trails in the area can easily be done with a 2WD. On Imogene, you might scrape the frame in a few spots, but IMHO, that's what a truck is for. On mineral creek, you might also scrape.
