Sadly, I'm having to give up my beloved 2014 SR5 Premium due to financial concerns. In looking at "downgrades", I've test driven a couple higher-mileage earlier 5th gens (both 2013's).
Aside from the obvious differences between 2013 and 2014 models, I've noticed that there's a very noticeable difference in sound deadening when opening and closing doors. My 2014 feels incredibly solid and soft when closing doors, whereas both 2013's had more of a resonant "thunk" when closing the doors that reminded of an old Datsun 720. One of the 2013's was cloth interior while the other was leather, but they both sounded identical.
Anyone happen to know if there was a significant change in sound deadening materials used when the 5th gens got their 2014 refresh? Or perhaps know what else might contribute to this difference?
