2014 4Runner SR5 Running Boards

Did a little more searching and these boards look very similar to the ones in the pic. They are for the Trail, so maybe our theory is correct:

I believe these are the ones that I called this company about recently. They were very nice and did some "research" but ending up telling me they won't work on an SR5. Not sure why they won't but that is what I was told.

So I bought Amazon.com: Genuine Toyota 4Runner Running Board Set PT925-89140. Black. 2014 SR5 Models Only.: Automotive. Confirmed that These are all black running boards exactly like the pic i posted earlier.

Still no idea if TE versions fit SR5.:crazy:

I was thinking the same as you and I would definitely be interested. If it is not too much trouble that is. Don't inconvenience yourself over it. It would definitely open my options up if that was the case though. Most of the aftermarkets stick too far down for my taste for the 2014 SR5. The NFabs are my top choice, but my wife wants the step down the entire length for my son. She is worried that he might have problems with the individual steps on the NFABs.

I am interested as well if you are going to do this. It seems like some of the manufacturers and/or websites are not entirely up to date with the 2014 SR5 changes (the lower trim piece).

I'll stop by tomorrow morning after a morning project that I have.

Also - saw a '14 at a gas station yesterday - it looks like (just from the distance I was at) that they tucked the sm in a little bit - made the body a little slimmer. I also saw another '14 with the nFab bars on it, and they looked pretty darn good. As for the steps themselves - neither of my boys have trouble using them to get in - even my 2 yr old climbs up them pretty easily.

Here are some pics of how mine are set up right now (still need to get the shrockworks skirts - which if you have a '14 with the slim OEM skirts still on will close that gap that you will see in mine):

I ordered the N-FAB bars a few weeks ago from trdparts4u.com and I'm waiting for them to come in so I can pick them up. My husband has them on his '14 Tacoma TRD Sport. Although I was unsure if they were too "masculine" to add to my '14 SR5, I couldn't find anything else that I was crazy about.

I would be careful letting your little ones climb in using them as my two year old was climbing into my husband's truck and slipped - basically ended up with road rash down his forehead and nose. Husband called it a "scratch" - ha!

I think I saw Harper post something about 3M non-slip tap to improve grip on steps - might look into that for the nfabs?

Those look really good! I am in the same boat, I have a 2 1/2 year old boy that has to climb in by himself. That is why I was leaning towards getting the "traditional" looking running boards. You are doing a great job of convincing me otherwise.

11-13 Trail Running Boards on a 2014 SR5

I thought I would post this info to this particular thread as it seems to be most relevant. I had been doing quite a bit of research, aka, googling, various running boards for my 2014 SR5. I really liked the Trail version, but never could get a definitive answer if they would fit on an SR5. Well, they do. Like a champ!

I bought these 4Runner TE OEM running boards from Amazon, model number PT938-89100. The description states they are for a Trail model only, but from what I determined, that pertains to year 2011-2013. The 2014 SR5 doesn't have the lower skirt like the 2013 and earlier.

They are a direct bolt on installation. There are six - 12mm bolts already there, but the RBs come with six -13mm replacement bolts that are coated in anti-seize. It took less than 30 minutes for the install.

Just checked Amazon and these clock in at 353$ with free shipping. I think might have to go with this option for the price.

Figures the price would change after I ordered. I'm thinking I may have bought the last set Amazon had though. Mine were $361 and free two day shipping with Prime. With tax the final price was $390.90.

Apparently the N-Fab steps are on backorder. I ordered two weeks ago and the girl said it may be another few weeks before they come in. I paid $366+ tax, but don't have to have them shipped since I can pick them up locally.

I do like the look of those Trail boards! Hoping I like the look of the N-Fab once I get them here and my husband puts them on.

As promised - just stopped by my LD and sure enough the mounts are the same for the 14s, so anything TE 2010+ will fit on a 14 SR5 or TE.

Also noticed that the new skirts look like the shrockworks replacement skirts, only in plastic instead of metal like the shrockworks.

Also about threw up when the parts dept wanted nearly $100 for an FJ shift knob, and $280 for TE skirts...each
