2014 4Runner SR5 Running Boards

You have an SR5....right? Go read the bottom of the Amazon URL you point to....Customer questions and answers.....#3

Unfortunately, for the Amazon seller at least, that is an incorrect statement. Trail edition running boards from 2011 to 2013 definitely fit a 2014 SR5.

Yes, I can confirm that the Trails fit. I just got mine installed last night and they are good to go. Thanks everyone!
Thanks to everyone that helped out with this! It made no sense to me why the boards wouldn't fit. The problem is all of these vendors are relying on what the computer is telling them for fitment and nobody has actually tried to fit them to see if they will work.

FWIW, oem parts world has the boards a little bit cheaper $306 but I am not sure if it is free shipping or not so the Amazon may turn out to be the better deal.

Thanks again!

PT925-89110 = 00016-89040 - fits 2010-2013 and 2014 Limited - does not fit 2014 SR5 and I'm told will not fit 2014 Trail

Thank you for this! I've been trying to see what the difference is between the two part numbers and why one is much cheaper than the other. So, now I can go ahead with the cheaper ones (00016-89040)!

Thank you so much camnowell!!! I have the 2014 SR5 premium and was wondering why everything said these would not fit when they are all 5th Gen. Thanks for sharing and the pics for other to see. Looks like I will be on the hunt for a deal now. \m/

Awesome!! Well, that confirms it then. I have the same SR5, color, rims and everything. Now to make the final decision. Thanks for the info and the pics!

Edit:

Just checked Amazon and these clock in at 353$ with free shipping. I think might have to go with this option for the price.

Running-Boards

Just bought them a couple weeks ago from Amazon for my 13 TE. They were here pretty quick. Will get pics tomorrow.

I thought I would post this info to this particular thread as it seems to be most relevant. I had been doing quite a bit of research, aka, googling, various running boards for my 2014 SR5. I really liked the Trail version, but never could get a definitive answer if they would fit on an SR5. Well, they do. Like a champ!

I bought these 4Runner TE OEM running boards from Amazon, model number PT938-89100. The description states they are for a Trail model only, but from what I determined, that pertains to year 2011-2013. The 2014 SR5 doesn't have the lower skirt like the 2013 and earlier.

They are a direct bolt on installation. There are six - 12mm bolts already there, but the RBs come with six -13mm replacement bolts that are coated in anti-seize. It took less than 30 minutes for the install.

Here are pictures of before and after.

Hi camnowell...any chance you can repost the pics? I have a 2014 SR5 Premium and would like to put the TE boards on it. Before i do i want to see what they look like and your images are not coming up.

I made a mistake of ordering the steps because the listing said they fit 2014 SR5 and as you can see in the attached photo they do, however no one said about the 7inch gap from the step to the door. Needless to say lesson learned.

Thanks for your input and pic as well. This way others can see what could happen too. I almost made that same mistake. My TE RB's should be here this week and I will also post pics of the after effect.

Im interested in doing this to mine, adding the TE trim would be great, Ive always wanted alittle more ground clearance. And with the plastidip on my chrome sides being chipped this looks like the move, so you removed the old rocker pannel and installed this yourself? Im not looking to add running boards though. Do you have the exact part number.

Runner4yoda you beat me to it, but I figured I would show off my boards that I got today and just put them on. These definitely look better. Last thing to do for now is to get rid of the chrome roof rails and get black rims.

to summarize... those of us with '14 SR5s need to look for bars that fit the 10+ TEs?

Sucks to hear, there are some 4" Westin Nerf Bars that are prime eligible (huge savings for shipping to Alaska) but it sounds like they will not fit as Westin/Amazon don't realize there is a mounting difference...

Thanks for all the info everyone
