Unfortunately, for the Amazon seller at least, that is an incorrect statement. Trail edition running boards from 2011 to 2013 definitely fit a 2014 SR5.

hav TE running boards willing to sell…
i will be posting in classifieds soon, but since it ties to this thread, figured I would throw it out there. I have all of the bolts that go with the running boards as well. In great shape from 2012 TE. Willing to box up and ship from Virginia, looks like $35-$55 spending on where they are going. Willing to sell for $200 local pick up. Will simply add on shipping cost if you need me to ship. To calculate cost, each board is 66" long, about 10" deep and 6" thick. Estimate 10lb each.

2015 SR5 Prem w/ TE Boards Installed
Installed the TE running boards on my 2015 SRM Premium this afternoon. I purchased them from a dealer via Amazon model "Genuine Toyota Accessories PT938-89100 Running Board", paid approx $350 for the pair including shipping.
Fitment was acceptable in my opinion, however they do not sit flush with the bottom of the rocker panel. There is a small gap. From pictures I have seen of the Trail Edition I don't believe they sit flush on that model anyway.
Passenger side lined up perfectly between front mud flap and rear tire. On drivers side the board rubs slightly on the front mud flip (see in picture). There is some "wiggle room" during install to adjust but I could not get it to slide to the right to avoid rubbing. I had a similar issue when I installed LE boards on my '07 SR5, didn't cause any problems just a bit of an OCD issue with it
I like the look of these, and wanted to be 100% sure I didn't get boards with a chrome strip along the side. Overall very happy with the purchase and not paying dealer $700 to install unknown model boards.

The TE boards will not fit the LE using the OEM TE mounting hardware due to the side skirts on the Limited. Those of us with '10-'13 SR5s have the same problem. The TE boards could be made to fit an LE with either adapters that extend the mounting hardware allowing clearance of the boards with the side skirts (someone on this forum has done that), or removing/replacing the LE side skirts with TE type rocker trim. Quite a few forum members have removed the LE side skits to mount sliders. It leaves a bit of a unfinished lood to the rocker area that may not be pleasing to some folk's eyes. Someone might be able to confirm/refute whether the mounting hardware for the LE boards might be compatible with the TE boards as a third (and possibly least hassle) option.

Can't find mounting brackets...Any info?...Hmm...Little more specific....2014 4 Runner SR5 looking to install running boards...All the manufacturers I have checked with don't include the mounting bracket kits...My issue is they don't furnish these, and I'm having problems finding them...Any help would be appreciated...Thanks

Just about every mfg. I queried earlier in 2014 included brackets with the sale of the board.
There are countless styles and finishes. Post what you are looking for and maybe someone will be able to help.

After a bunch of searching and googling. I refound this thread, was inspired and confident that it fits and ordered it. Waiting for it in the mail. The amazon comments all saying it was the right board for 2014 SR5 as well.
My pregnant wife is going to appreciate having a step.
Quick question.... It's too late anyway, but curious to hear.
One review said it was a really plastic-like feel? Is it a cheap feel? Any wobble or flex? or just look like plastic? Anyone have any of the plastic pieces break?

What board(s) are you referring to? Posting a URL might help.
These are the boards in regards to 2014 TE fitting on 2014 SR5. I talked to one toyota dealership and they said no. not unless I make my own brackets?
These are the ones that I just ordered that are commented as being plasticy?

I'll take plastic over the rusted nfabs I have seen after a few years up here. Salted roads..., and after this Winter.... never had any luck with $#!ttybuilt or other black powder coated welds on any of my vehicles unless original Mopar or Toyota/WAAG. These boards will be a welcome edition for $351 from Amazon.
