Ugh....

Come on Toyota....upgrade the damn drivetrain already.

The "ALL NEW" 4runner & Tundra have ALL OLD parts.

For freakin sake....even Jeep upgraded the Grand Cherokees tranny mid cycle.

So buy a Jeep dude. Every OEM does it different and Toyota does it this way. Like it or buy something else.

Curious to see what this will look like in black and an SR5...I don't care for the 2 tone but love the black background on the "4Runner" name on the back...really makes it stand out. Love the interior...much nicer than my '11

If you read the disclaimer at the bottom of the factory photos, it does say "Prototype shown with options, production vehicle may vary"

I personally do not think that it is all that bad, but am perfectly happy with my 2012 TE.

I don't care much for the big silver bug collector up front, but it could always be changed to black. The interior looks fine to me.

Is this going to be avail this fall or earlier? I would love to have my V8 again...that's my biggest regret to upgrading from my 2005...anyone know when we will see what options will be avail?

Sr5 will apparently look almost identical to the TE. Limited gets chrome bits. Super White is a new color which means that a white TE will finally be available.

"The 2014 4Runner will be available in eight exterior colors that include new additions: Super White; Attitude Black Metallic; Barcelona Red Metallic; and Nautical Blue Metallic. They will join carryover colors that include: Blizzard Pearl; Classic Silver Metallic; Magnetic Gray Metallic; and Black."

interior looks the same but nicer instruments. I thought the 4wd lever was going away?? I love the red stitching. looks good.

Here you go.

Because of your mad photoshop skills I think you have earned a permanent place here lol. Good job! Antman is here because of his photography, TITANpat and phillyd2 are here because of their diplomatic ways lol. Me? Still don't know why I'm here.

Now that I understand that the photos are of a prototype that would have elements from all models, like the roof rack, body color door handles, and leather seats in a TE.

I kind of wonder what the actual production versions will like for each model.

So the new red thingy is the 2014 TE model--based on the press car having the obligatory manual t-case shifter.

It's a "pre-production" car in the sense that they're already cranked out a few hundred if not more at the factory and this is one of the first.

I'm alright with the interior. Looks no different from my TE, save for blue where there was orange, and leather.

Same engine, same transmission. The SR5 gets the 8way seat. HDC is now on all 4x4s, so is CRAWL.

Good thing they didn't offer green. I would hate to trade again lol!
I love green.

Stop it with the instant defensive attitude people take on here.

Like it or buy something else? I have owned 3 generations of 4runners, including the current, and have enjoyed them all, but to ask for improvements is too much?

So there is NOTHING you would like to improve about your current vehicle?

Didn't know hoping for an improved transmission was such a soft spot.

MOVING ON...... The new facelift is OK. I imagine that with most refreshes it will become "better looking" over time. I am curious what the Limited is going to look like.

I want a 400hp V8, front and rear metal off road armor bumpers, full set of skids, rock rails, functional roof rack, rear spare and jerry can carrier that swings away, snorkel, 6sp automatic, a center open diff w/locker, factory 3" lift...

...oh and a live front axle would be sweet.
