I prefer the Softex in my Prius to the leather in my SR5.
I had assumed Softex was an cheaper and inferior substitute, since the Limited still came with real leather. Can you elaborate on why you prefer the Softex over leather? Can you tell that it's not real leather? How does Softex perform in frigid temps and blistering temps as compared to real leather? Thanx

from a couple different angels here it looks like they lowered to belt line a couple inches? I'm sure I'm seeing things, but it kinda has a Subaru Forester vibe going on
Softex is a lighter synthetic material. I think it feels more supple than the real leather in our 4Runners. It seems to have better stick as far as your butt sliding around. Especially after I condition my 4Runner seats, I'm sliding all over the place. Those are the only real differences I've noticed. Both vehicles are Blizzard Pearl with black interiors and I've never been burned up in the summer. Both seats are damn cold in the winter, but heated seats takes care of that quickly. (The 4Runner heated seats are many times better than my Prius, though. The Prius is off or 1st degree burn as far as settings.)
Now, I think my MIL's RX350 leather is nicer than both. It is a Lexus, though.
Probably a radio antenna. The fourth gen has that..

They likely are defrosters - the Highlanders have heated rear side windows too.

The interior looks great! Finally, leather on the TE - it always seemed dumb that leather wasn't an option - leather is by far the easiest material to clean trail grime off of.
I instantly hated the exterior styling - but I looked at it, posted a comment on this thread expressing my disgust, then went for dinner and a couple drinks. I just looked at it again, and I actually don't mind it now. Maybe it's the drinks at dinner talking, but I think it looks ok. I still think the fish gills look terrible, but the overall look has already grown on me. I'm sure that by the time these units hit the showroom, it will have grown on me even more.
That being said, I plan on keeping my '12 for quite some time - maybe I'll buy a 7th generation.

Pretty happy with my decision to buy the 2013 TE a few weeks ago. I'm sure the refresh will grow on me, but I won't be in the market for a new one for at least 10 years.

Could be. Just noticed they eliminated the antenna as someone else pointed out, made more sense than defrosting a window the driver can't see out of.
