So the SR5 interior did not change!? It still has all the gray plastic, and not the black like the TE?
I love the updated exterior, and would likely just get a SR5 if the interior was updated as well.

Gotta say, the design is really growing on me. I'm so glad they gave the SR5 a cleaner look. And i actually like the Limited better than the old design. sounds like they're really going upscale with the bells and whistles.

If you zoom in close enough, you can see that the SR5 still has the same old silver trim as before. Highly disappointing.

If you're willing, I'd imagine the center stack would be easy enough to swap out with TE parts, but the tough bit would be the door handles/power window trim. Dinoc might be the only way to go for those. Hopefully I'm wrong about that one.

There is one down the road from my job at a dealership. My 2001 SR5 has been a trooper for the last 150,000 miles and I am ready to trade up. Was set on the TE because I hated the lunch box look of the skirts and rocker panels with the chrome trim on the SR5. So this leaves me with a question.

Since the vast majority of you guys are serious off-roaders what makes sense. I use my T4R for daily driving and surf trips. Drive it in sand, occasionally, like 3-4 times a year, get it off pavement and the beach to look for some waves but thats about it. Would an SR5 with 4x4 make more sense for my purposes now that they look almost identical minus the sweet rims and the nonfunctional hood scoop? Many of you mention the benefits of the KDDS. Has anyone ever purchased an SR5 with that option alone. Can't thank you all enough for the pictures and constant updates, its been an amazing resource when figuring out what to by. :keyboard:

Your needs will easily be met with an SR5. I'm not a hardcore offroader (all terrain tires and mudguards are my only mods). The SR5 still has a great 4WD system and the KDSS is more of an onroad performance improvement (bug swaybars when you want them, effectively no swaybars when you don't). You cannot get an SR5 with KDSS.

If my wife had not insisted we get the 4Runner in white, if have purchased the TE for the exterior look alone. The all black interior on the '14 TE would seal the deal for me as the exterior is largely the same.

I'm about like you guys. My only off-road is hunting and fishing. The SR5 will suit your needs just fine. There are actually quite a few guys that wheel a lot in their SR5s.

I think they still changed the center concole and other trim pieces from gray to black in the SR5. There is a picture showing the two charging ports on the back of the center console and it is black. The seats look like cloth in the picture, so it has to be in the SR5. Ya! I'm okay with with silver trim near the door handles not being changed.
Also, did anybody every answer about the tow hitch being gone on the SR5, also there are no back-up sensors on the SR5 bumper in the pictures. Hmmm....

True. Maybe there they will be included with a premium package. But, might not be a bad idea for model differentiation. Same goes with the black interior trim on the TE. I think Toyota trying to separate the trim-levels a bit more is great.

Kinda disappointed in the looks of the TE, I was thinking it would look tougher, like the '10-13' TE's did. But maybe in white or black it would look better. Found this picture on a different thread, looks good.
