Exterior Colors

Usually Toyota does not offer all colors in all models. Is red offered in the Limited n 2014? It was not in 2013.

I didn't really care for the 2014's until I saw these pics of the SR5. I think the SR5 look great, not feeling the others. Has the look of blended parts of 2010-2013 trail and SR5 - the front is a little different but not bad.

The no side skirts and better rear bumper skin are the big winners for me.

There is an adapter plate according to the TIS.

:thumb: That was my point, we have some female members who like to get out and wheel, and def. prefer 4x4's... so I didn't want to make the same statement that Harper7 did about crossovers.

I think crossovers are so popular because for a lot of people they are the perfect fit for handling weather, having interior space while not being too big, while still returning fairly good gas mileage.

I have to say that I don't like to get out and go offroading- hell no. I'm a girly girl who loves the traditional midsize SUVs, and I like them big and bulky.. I hate the crossovers and how they drive- like a boat- I like to feel the road plus they're smaller and look like oversized station wagons..

If I could, I'd get the sequoia but it's too expensive for me. I've been waiting for over a year now for the next 4Runner update - especially the ugly bulky and cheap looking plastic knobs.. I'm praying that maybe the 2015 will be the year, in the meantime I'm saving up...

Guess I'm in the minority, but I think the '14 LE is going to sell well. The blue one posted above looks good to me. Also agree the SR5s are a nice improvement. Hopefully TMC will sell 65 or 70K of them next year.

I have to say that I don't like to get out and go offroading- hell no. I'm a girly girl who loves the traditional midsize SUVs, and I like them big and bulky.. I hate the crossovers and how they drive- like a boat- I like to feel the road plus they're smaller and look like oversized station wagons..

Ok then. Works for me. Anyway, if you are waiting for the 6th Gen of the 4Runner, you will be looking at 2017 at the earliest, IMHO. The 2014 is just the mid-cycle refresh. They may add a doohickey or two in 2015 and 2016, but when the 2014 start rolling off the production line in a month or so, Toyota's engineers will be focused toward the next gen, IF AT ALL.
I believe signs do point to the continuance of the midsize body on frame platform with the termination of the FJ Cruiser and Lexus GX, leaving the T4R as the last of the class.
I think if Toyota focused its energies on the T4R, eliminating the FJ and GX and replacing with a hardcore Trail Edition and an uber-luxo Limited edition, adding ECO diesel and V8 options to the entire line, the T4R could sell 100K units a year.
Toyota certainly did not help the cause of gauging the midsize body on frame market by releasing such a polarizing facelift. There will be MANY people who will skip the 5th Gen altogether due to the angry snout. I feel there is a large market for a versatile BOF truck but I fear that if the sales numbers do not increase, the whole segment will crush under the pressure of the crossovers with their fuel efficient designs.

Damn, I guess I'll still wait til this time next year to see what they changed. I like the new look- to me it doesn't look that much different that last years model and I prefer the 5th gen over the 4th thats for sure (boxier/bulkier).. Arrgh those knobs/buttons are so hideous though...I guess I'll have to live with them if they don't change them in the 2015 model.

I hear so much about how cross overs/CUVs/Unibody SUVs are move fuel efficient then BOF SUVs, however every CUV I have ever compared my 4runner to gets about the same, if not slightly worse then my 4runner. It even gets better FE then some of the more sporty midsize sedans, G35/37 for example.

Really the only thing that CUVs have over BOF SUVs are that they are cheaper to produce, have more interior room, and they have more "Car Like" handling, which personally for me is not a benefit.
