Is the full pricing information (options, not just base prices) out?
The OC Auto Show is just two weeks away, and they will surely have the 2014 models there.
We sat in a Durago Limited and a Durango Citadel yesterday. The only choice for the entire top of the interior is black, and we definitely did not like that. The "leather" on the door of the top-of the line Citadel looked like vinyl - maybe it is. They did not have a V8, so I did not want to bother driving a V6 version of a vehicle that heavy.

I recently rented an all wheel drive new Durango w/ the V6 on a business trip. It drove quite nicely. There was ample power and the motor made a subdued but pleasing growl. I wouldn't be concerned w/ the lack of power. Longterm reliability is an entirely different matter and what that I would be very worried about, but it had plenty of power.

I'll be getting one...The first shipment of production '14s landed in Hawaii -- there were around 20 -25 viewable from the street in front of the distribution center. Not sure when they'll hit the lots, but I'd guess relatively soon (probably timed with the national release).
The white SR5 sure reminded me of my '05. The side profile of the new Limited looks better in person than in pics. And the new tails don't look as "after-market" as I initially thought they would from the press pics.

Sorry for the crap formatting, but basically for the Trail Premium, there are no options other than KDSS, running boards and the sliding deck. Hopefully the dealer program price will be similar to the discount I was offered on the '13 which was $1000 under invoice. I might be looking at a '14 Trail Premium for $500 less than I was going to pay for the '13 a couple of months ago.

Can anyone chime in on how well that costco buying program works?
Never heard of it until last week. I think it's fun to go in and try to use tactics against the dealer, but if Costco can get me the same price...

thanks for the link to costco. just wish we had one in town. nearest one in my state for me is 4hrs away.
anyway, i used the link to find a baselie price for a limited and :
MSRP : 43,400 + 860 (Dest Fee) = 44,260
Invoice : 39,928 + 860 (Dest Fee) = 40,788
now my local dealer does best price so on avg they give a discount.
they have anywhere from 2780 to 2761 discount off the msrp.
so i am looking at a barebones LE for 41,480 maybe less which is only $700 over invoice.
anyway, i used the link to find a baselie price for a limited and :

For those trading in their 5th Gen, wouldn't it just be cheaper to swap the front end, or add the interior amenities that you desire? I mean, everyone here is all about mods. While I actually do like the refresh, I am not going to cost myself thousands of dollars for minor tweaks... Unless I was thinking of downgrading to the SR5. I will say the Silver one in the video above looked quite nice IMO.
Anyway, I don't post this sarcastically or mean any ill will. I do like the refresh but was just curious on the rationale.

the reviewer in the first link says they averaged 12mpg during their few hours of testing?! surely this can't be correct?
I can see staying away from the first year of a major model change, but not this mid-year refresh. The vast majority of the vehicle is unchanged. They've thrown a new front cover on, some new lights, new seats, a few switches and wiring harnesses. Really minor stuff considering the whole package.

There are a few so that includes wearing them out. What about efficiency? The 4Runner is no Prius. How about luxury? Nope. How about value? Now, it does hold it's value well. Bottom line is simply want. For me I really liked the Silver TE since it first came out. I bought an SR5 to see if going from a truck to an SUV would "work." It did and I started looking for a Silver TE. When I found it I waited until I could get the best deal and got it. No real rationale except I really liked it.

I was kind of in the same boat, having 4 trucks prior to owning my 4 runner I was a little "nervous" about going from a truck to a smaller SUV, I too would have went for a SR5 but I got such a good deal on my trade in and the out the door price it was really too good to pass up.
Also my monthly payment went down, my insurance went down and so did my APR so i went with it thinking that if I did not like it I would get good resale value out of my runner.
Gladly I really do like my Toyota (So does my wife, she always hated my trucks), now why would I want a 2014.....apart from the new saddle color leather, cooled/memory seat I just "WANT" it, but I can wait another year or too.

A Honda Civic would do all I need to accomplish and the 4Runner is something I have wanted since, I figure, around 2006 while still in university. I do not need it and I feel lucky to have this much choice in my vehicle purchase. I had a 2010 Jeep Wrangler, new, because at that point, new 4Runners were not in my price range, and used ones were too much for my liking (a benefit for me now). I also did not like how I sat and fit in the 4th Gen despite loving the look of it. So, I went new with Jeep- which was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, though, the Jeep was not the 4Runner I longed for and it did not have the look nor all the bells and whistles, better engine, reliabilty, etc. that I wanted.
However, I just thought it was interesting people would jump for the 5.5 Gen for what seemed like trivial reasons. There really aren't any changes that aren't "modable" except for a few tricky ones like the memory seats as mentioned above. Anyway, this is definitely all very subjective and these choices are obviously dictated by wants. I guess I just felt like talking to you guys today.
