2014 4Runner

Wow! What a pathetic magazine four wheel magazine is. They eve called the 4 runner interior boring! One of the top reasons I cannot stand the completion is that the interiors are cheap and ugly. Ford, after decades of having the worst interiors are now the best oddly enough. Anyway, four wheeler just lost all credibility...

Fourwheeler magazine tests the 2014 for four wheeler of the year. Spoiler alert: the big cars win. Wow this magazine has changed, guessing they will be out of print in a few years.

The whole article is written poorly. I like how it said, we asked out reviewers to take detailed notes... Then the log book quotes are 3 word quotes like ... "Diggin the diesel!" Yeah, real detailed.

That article read more like it was from Motortrend or C&D than a offroad mag. I don't put any stock in these reviews anyway. We all know what the best SUV for off road was. It was the only one with a real frame. On top of that, 500+ hp is nice but like most range rovers, it will eventually see more shop time than road time. Same goes for the jeeps and the dodge, or fiat.

Jeeps are very popular around here, but I live in an area of mechanically ignorant. I see wranglers that are just a few years old that are already rusting. I don't get why people have loyalty to garbage. If Toyotas ever let me down I would be the first to move on.

Ya I loved that truck. Front and rear lockers stock with 33s and I ran 35s with just a level. I got rid of it because I drove it 100,000 miles and though it never broke down on me it's GM so it was coming. If it were a toyota I would have trusted it but I didn't want to chance being stranded somewhere.
Welcome! I always thought those H3-Ts looked nice. That one is bada$$! It looks like you put some serious money into that rig. Why did you get rid of it?

Lifted 2014

I couldn't pick up my ride this weekend but I got the pic of when the lift was done being installed. I think it looks pretty good. First thing I'll do when I pick it up is go get some Wrangler Duratracs...

New to the forum, but not to 4Runners. Had a 3rd gen, just got this Limited Magnetic Gray/Redwood interior w/Auto running boards (which was almost impossible to get here in SoCal at the time I ordered) before Thanksgiving:

Sorry for the crappy cell pics.

After getting sick of fixing my 4 door wrangler over and over i came to the realization there was no way im paying 50k for a Grand Cherokee diesel. The engine may last but everything else will fall apart. I love my 2014 trail just wish there were some more aftermarket goodies. Id love a snorkel. Although i only used it a few times for deep water, it definetly improved engine air flow

Did you seriously just call out another manufacturer for rust while trying to claim Toyota is the best? :der:

You're absolutely insane if you think the T4R has a better interior than the JGC or LRRRS. I've never been in a new Cherokee but if it's anything like the GC, it's much better than the 4R. Something tells me you don't spend much time objectively looking at many other vehicles.

which lift? Was it done at the dealership?

there is a big price difference in the models that were compared. I would imagine the more expensive brands have more bells and whistles/features. For example the 4runner trail premium MSRP isabout $38,000 while the range rover sport is $63,000... Perhaps, the reviewers should have included the toyota land cruiser since Jeep sent 2 models.

Revtek yes it was done at the dealership and it's covered by the warranty now. They had a problem with it installing it and that's why I couldn't pick it up this weekend they had to pay for a rental while they fix it.
