For comparison to Toyota:
The Land Rover forum members are defensive over their vehicles. There’s no sense of humor, no self deprecation despite being such horrendously unreliable vehicles. It’s painfully obvious and even more painful to see a customer base that is in denial that no amount of maintenance can prevent the numerous air suspension faults and other electronic gremlins that will undoubtedly appear in their lease or ownership.
The break-fix threads do contain helpful information, but there is NO tolerance of groveling or bashing the brand, even from people who own the vehicles and are struggling. While it does keep the conversation “productive” it also has an air of “you’re no good to us unless you’re supporting the brand”. Without people, there is no brand. And the brand has to be cognizant of the ownership experience - at LEAST through the initial 3 year lease, my god.
