Cost varies depending on how early you sign up, I believe It's like $75-100. Passengers 18+ are $20 and kids/pets are free. Pavilion shower and on-trail portacans (saved me once for sure) awesome trails beginner to expert. A few guided runs/tutorial demos. Great group of guys that put on the event. Complementary food/beer/drinks. Most stock rigs can putt around with some decent spotting but cb radio I'd have to say is a must have. Basically you show up Thursday or Friday, get camp set up if you're staying on site, go to the front building and sign in. Guided runs start Saturday. Other than that there's no "rules" on who you can run with just meet people and go, be nice to each other and the trails. It's a fun event and a great place for any wheeler

Well I bet you would win [MENTION=7957]Tengu[/MENTION]! I still haven't put on my skid plates yet! And I am getting ready to order the Metal Tech sliders since they are on sale. Gotta spend some time in the garage on this beast. I just installed a brake controller in preparation of the popup camper I just ordered (Somerset Evolution E2). CB is on the list too. I've been talking with Jacques about a lift and having TOD do it when I come down to Dallas. So I have a whole list of mods piling up in the garage....all the while I am waiting on the S/C too!
In regards to the Jambo:
register early so you get the best discount, buy your raffle tickets at that time, they are the cheapest and the raffle on Sat night is a blast. After the raffle a lot of groups go night wheeling which is pretty cool. The park opens up on Thursday and I would be a majority of people come in Friday evening or super early Sat morning. They have dinner for you at the pavilion Friday & Saturday. Most people tent camp but there is a group that has campers up top by the pavilion and then there are others that stay off-site in hotels/motels. There are several campgrounds around and folks just group together, no strangers! They have beginner trail runs that leave from the pavilion, like others mentioned, CB radio is way handy. The Toyota Trail Riders do a bang up job with this event. Friday night is a vendor meet & greet (chili social) Bring some dough, you can buy stuff cheaper than normal.
Oh well that's it, sorry if I kinda vomited on my keyboard typing this up...

Actually, while I have my full belly skids, mine too are waiting in a pile in the garage for at first waiting for a cool enough day to install, which turned into I'll wait until I have my lift and do it all at once. (I mean why diminish the fuel consumption prematurely, and unnecessarily) So I too have a garage pile building, with Metaltech LCA's, Icon rear springs and shocks, A arm skids, front UCAs. I'm still waiting for the front coils to come in along with rear shock skids. I was about to order sliders but I got broken into, and that money went out the door. But mine will be all dressed up by Jambo, as I'm sure yours would be ass well.

How welcome would a 2WD Tacoma with a rear diff locker be to this Jamboree? I'm trying to get some friends together. I know one guy who has a 4wd 4runner that does not want to go offroad . I have another friend with the 2wd Taco that might be interested in doing light offroading.

2WD vehicles can handle the access roads fine, but I would stay away from the technical trails. What I would encourage you to do is attend and then ride with someone in a 4x4.

Ive been to the Jambo several times, and I dont think they allow 2wd vehicles on the trails. 4wd vehicles have enough trouble as it is, and with the large groups on the trails, 2wd slows things down even more. Take your 4wd 4runner.
As far as passengers, Id limit it to 3 including you. Last time I went I had 5 guys in my 4runner including me, it was miserable for all of us.
Maybe if it was two guys and three girls in my 4runner it would have been a little more tolerable.

As long as it has the rear locker it should be *OKAY* but you will be taking things slowly for sure. Especially with it being a pick up I'd load down the bed with something to keep traction on the ground but most importantly make sure you have a good spotter who knows what he's doing and don't get too overly confident. Besides if you get to something too tough, many of the trails have bypasses
Kolby was 2wd locked and I was 4x4 open last year and we navigated most of the trails with decent spotting. Although I'm coming back this year 4x4 locked and kolby's coming back in a 4x4 locked fj if that says anything...

Kolby dmc did two years there in 2wd. Last year he had a locker in it, and we were amazed what he could do.
Just join a group and know when to by pass.

I look fwd to meeting you guys. Even though I'm stranded in TX, I was born and raised in Springfield, MO. Actually took the 4Runner up a few years ago to try out the OHV park in Seymour, but haven't made it to any other MO parks.
