2014 Seats.. any change?

I saw two reviews on the net that said the 2014 seats were more comfortable (vs. 2010). I find my seat to be a bit narrow and lacks a good supportive bolster. Sometimes when making turn I feel as though I'm sliding up against the door. I'm agonizing over my decision to upgrade or not. Is it worth upgrading to the 2014. I was hoping someone who upgraded from 2010-13 could comment on the seat change if any. If it's better and more comfy I'll put that in the plus column. Thanks in advance....

They put these nifty indentation on each side of each of the back of the 2014 front seats to add about an inch of leg (knee) room for rear seat passengers. I can't compare comfort to the 10-13 because I didn't have them, but they are a world of difference from my awful 2008 seats. Honestly the front seats (quality) and lack of head/leg room in my '08 were my only two complaints about the truck.

This is slightly off-topic, but I recently noticed that the seatbelts are different between the 2010 and 2012 models. Wonder if that is different yet again on the 2014s?

Bringing this one back.

I've tried to search and only found this thread. I recently test drove a 2014 today. The drivers seat seemed to sit higher/closer to the steering wheel and the steering wheel didn't seem to tilt as high as my 4th gen does.

I'm 6'4" with long legs. The 2014 seems to give me more leg room from dash than my 4th gen, but the steering wheel seems to sit low. Anyone else have this issue or experience the same??

It seems find for me at 6"2"..never had a 4th gen so can't compare.

I just upgraded from a 2011 SR5 to a 2014 trail premium, I had custom fit marathon seat covers made for the 2011 and they fit the trail perfectly. Other than that the only other difference I can feel is the softex material that I like, it feels firmer!

I test drove a 14 limited yesterday... I'm 6'5 350lbs and had no issues with fitting. I put the back of the seat bottom all the way to the floor and put the backrest back a touch and it fit like a glove. One of the most comfortable SUVs I have been in. I like the bolsters on the seats especially!

Okay-my 04 sport the biggest complaint I have are the seats...I test drive a couple of 10s and 11s. The bolsters still felt narrow and my back no likely. I swear the 14 seats are somehow wider...maybe the bolsters are just softer or angle out more. Either way I have made several longer test drives in the 14 and I like the seats much better.

Well yesterday was my first hot day in Texas. Over 90 and I was skeptical on how the Softex seats would be. So far, not sticking, but it not 110 yet.:wink2:

I'm 6'2" and never could get perfectly comfortable in my 4th gen with sunroof. My 3rd gen had plenty of space too but I felt like I was sitting on the floor. My 5th gen is perfect! It's more like sitting in a chair with tons of head/leg room. I don't even have to put the seat all of the way back. And the cooled seats in the limited are a must in Texas. I love them!

Thanks for responses. Maybe I didn't have the drop in the seat all the way down. Will try that next time I test drive before I get all the detail figured out. Still trying to decide if I want the T4R or Tacoma TRD OR.

I had two booster seats in 3rd row, I think you could easily get what you are trying to do.

Thanks.. Now to convince the wife to Trade in her '11 Sienna for it.. I know she likes the 4Runner.. but she is worried she will miss the van with the kids

She will. It is really hard to beat a minivan for hauling around kids.

I know but she wanted a 4Runner before the Van.. and she still wants it just not sure how the kids will like change.. will prob have to put a DVD player on the back of headrests
