2014 SR5 -- missing turn signals on mirrors

Thats funny, i noticed this when i was getting my 5K done on my 2012 SR5

Also the side steps look a little cheaper on the 2014 SR5

Looks like they were trying to save a little cash on the newer models.
 
Next update: the guy at Toyota says that since the problem affects dozens of trucks, Toyota "corporate managers" will have a meeting about the issue this week and will decide what to do about it.
 
Ah, yes.

So, I got two letters in the mail. In one of them Toyota offers me $100 for a missing compass. I have no idea what they are talking about (I have the nav package which includes a compass) but I'll probably take that $100 on general grounds :-)

The other letter is theoretically about the missing turn signals, but they never explicitly say so and instead offer me a $100 mail-in rebate for something purchased at a dealer "as a compensation for an inconvenience".

Since I don't intend to buy anything from a dealer in the near future, that mail-in rebate is worth zilch to me. I don't think I'll accept that offer. Instead I'll poke Toyota a bit more and if they decide to be dicks about it I might have to switch to talking to their legal department...

Any updates? I also have a 2014 with no turn signal indicators. I was wondering if I can just buy the mirrors with turn signals but not sure if it's plug and play type of install.

No offense but I think you will get nowhere against Toyota with a lawyer

I let the matter drop since I had other, more exciting things to do, but I vaguely remember that one of the reasons Toyota was unhelpful is that it is NOT plug-and-play, getting mirrors with turn signals involved installing a new electrical harness which is an involved and expensive process.
