Yep that's the place for directions. One thing I noticed it doesn't say, I went to tap the fuse wire and then couldn't close the fuse box cover. couple minutes of google showed nothing so I took a dremmel and notched a slot for the wire. If you ever pull it I just used refrigerant tape to seal the hole... similar to this![]()
I installed the DRL wire through this area. You won't have to cut into the fuse box. This picture is from an install video on YouTube of the "Raptor Grille" lights. It works for this case as well.
Link to video? Is great to know but I just watched 3 videos on raptor grill lights and they all went through the firewall to tap. thanks
update:
adding a resistor on the DRL wiring harness leading to the fuse box (per dr. monkeypants) fixed my DRL issue, but didn't fix my sequential blinking issues.
Edited original review to reflect that.
I had to add resistors to both sides of my lights because I am running LED lights in the back. That resolved my hyper blinking.
did you tap the OEM wiring harness leading to the blinkers on both sides or did you tap the wires on the headlights themselves?

By the way, I used to stare at the front of my 4Runner a lot before, but these headlights have taken my infatuation to the next level. I'll go out during my walk breaks at the office and just kind of look at it from a distance for a couple minutes.
Also, XD seems to think no one is having flash issues based on their response to an email I sent suggesting they add a resistor to the package. That's despite it literally stating in the instructions there would likely be issues with other LEDs in the system, lol. They wouldn't have added that comment if there were no issues in testing. So much stupid.
That said, I ordered some small round 12v 5w LEDs and drivers and am going to mock up some little side illumination pods and see how that works. If it goes well, these things are getting cracked open...
nothing like paying for something and getting only 80% of the features you paid for. Are you going to add more resistors to fix the sequential hyperblink or you gonna leave it alone? I personally don't care for it, but I kinda want to fix it just cuz i paid for it... However, I'm also the type of person that doesn't like to butcher a perfectly good wiring harness if i can avoid it.
If the hack works, sell the patent to Morimoto!Right? I don't care for the sequential so I'm good with it where it is now with just the single resistor.
And I'm on the same page as you guys. These lights aren't what they SHOULD be, but they're *so much* better looking than stock and they work great for 95% of the driving I'm going to do. And my ridiculous BD fogs will handle the rest... until I get the side illumination hacked in
To the guys experiencing hyper flash with the sequential signals- are all of you running led bulbs in the blinkers in the tails?
The instructions do acknowledge the likelihood of this happening due to unmatched impedance. If you’re running 100% OE tails and still have the issue though the sequential signal setup should work normally.
In either case, likely changing the resistor that’s on the back of the light for one with a higher rating would likely fix it, and no need to tap extra resistors into the wiring for the lights or OE circuits- that’s definitely not the best way to resolve that. We’re happy to work with you guys on a resistor swap at no charge too

WHAT THE HELL IS A WALK BREAK AT WORK????
and I need your "job"
