2014+ T4R Tri-LED Projector / Sequential Headlights

Okay, well I got everything installed and buttoned up on my Army Green Pro and for the most part, everything works as it should. I am however, getting a intermittent hyper blink on the sequential setting, but they work perfectly on the non-sequential setting.

I'm undecided on which I prefer better, but as easy as it is to switch over, I can change it up if I decide to. So with that said, what have you guys done to fix the hyper blink on the 2020 4Runner? Are people still using a resistor before the split, or is there another fix? I have a email and PM into XD but haven't gotten a response yet

I definitely want them to operate as they should, not matter what blinker setting I decide to use.

I believe there's an additional resistor/relay required for the '20s. I would check with the vendor and have them send one out.

XenonDepot can we have a group buy for these lights?

they just had a pretty huge 20% discount, not sure if it's still going on but I doubt a group buy would beat that

edit: looks like it must have ended in the past couple days

My headlights just got delivered.

How long did install take you guys?

It doesn’t seem to different or time consuming.

Cheers

I finally did a thing!

Sorry about the Alaskan winter coating on the car

Got these installed on a 2020 TRD Offroad. Hyperflash from both headlights. Pretty frustrating - I sent Xenon Depot a support ticket mid-November specifically asking if hyperflash would be a problem and would they include a resistor - Mike B responded saying that the resistor on the back of the units had been upgraded and hyperflash wasn't a problem. Seems like a fairly significant issue to either lie about, or just get wrong. Sent a support ticket - hopefully they resolve it.

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us! We have about 50 in stock, but they are selling fast! We did have a very small amount of hyper flash issues with those, but we upped the resistance in one of the resistors on the back of the headlight and it fixed the issue for everyone, so no more hyper flash issues! You would not need any extra resistors. Just check out with the links below!

I placed my order on 11/27, received lights on 12/3 and installed 12/7 and had hyperblink on my 20 SR5P. I sent an email about needing the correct resistors on 11/27. Received email yesterday that they were still in transit to XenonDepot. Then got auto-email about 5p saying they shipped to me and will arrive Saturday.

I installed them on my 2020 Pro last week and also have the hyper flash. Emailed them and PM'd them and they told me the same thing about them currently being out of stock

Well, I got an email today that stated I have to remove the headlights from the truck in order to install the new resistors.... But a day ago, I got a PM stating that it was easy to do and could be done if the lights were already installed on the truck

So which is it XenonDepot?

Soooo...I'm thinking I should wait for all you "beta testers" to work the bugs out before I order these for my '20 Pro? :behindsofa:

I got my lights, perfect and easy install, no issues at all.
I am not finding any bugs.

HUGE upgrade from stock.

It's mainly people with 2020's since something has changed.

I get that they're upset, but unfortunately the headlights were developed for 2019 and earlier and I doubt Morimoto knew that a change was coming down the pipeline for 2020 that would mess up the compatibility.

Unfortunately, Morimoto and XenonDepot can't work production updates any faster physically since this is a relatively new development with the 2020's not working properly. Sounds like they're trying to resolve it one way or another though, which is about all you can really ask.

Of course, lack of communication can be frustrating as well.

Ah, roger that

I am not in the cool-kids-club of brand new 4runners.
When the bugs get worked out for you fresh 2020s, the product is amazing!
