2014 Trail Edition

Rear Seat

I just bought a 14 Trail and it does not have the sliding cargo deck. I do not think you can get a factory 3rd row seat in the Trail (go to Toyota.com to confirm), so you may have to put your own in it.

That's what this picture is showing: it's not a factory seat, it's an NHTSA approved, aftermarket bolt in rear-facing seat from littlepassengers.com. Their website states that you can't put it in a Trail model, but I think that's because I believe all Trail 4Runnerss came with a sliding cargo deck prior to Model Year '14.

I've confirmed that the '14 TEs can be had without the sliding deck. Thanks for the info.

2014 4rn trail mod

I just picked up a 2014 trail. Within 24 hours I did a led conversion to all the interior lights. Next I'm doing running boards of some type.

I absolutely love it! Picked it up Saturday night. Only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have Sirius satellite radio like advertised, and you don't get Entune unless you have a nav system.

The inside is gorgeous... blacked out with dark grey accents. Red stitching on the doors.

This is my first 4Runner... Before this I always had cars, so this is a new experience for me. Just got married and need something bigger with 2 dogs and a family in the future.

What are some mods that are easy for a beginner like myself? Would like to get some running boards/rails of some sort. Don't know if I like the huge step ones though. Something like the stock FJ rails would be nice. Tires would be next I think, after the stock tires get some use on them.

Very nice. At first glance I didn't like the new front end on the 2014's but from the angle you took the photo it looks great.

Also, I'm surprised the 2014 TE does not come standard with Sirius Satellite Radio. It was standard on the 2013 TE.

Like what?

First...that big silver fat lip on the front bumper

Second...looks like they did away with a TE type roof rack like on the 2010-2013, so I would black out the roof rack rails...plasti-dip or a more permanent solution. Or put on a different rack. I have yet to get around to doing this myself on my 2011 SR5.

Third...I actually like the new wheels...but I would still like to see them in black!

HVAE FUN! And if you would like to keep your money in your wallet...immediately cancel your membership to this forum!

No satellite? I got a '14 Trail and it came with Entune, XM, HD, HD traffic/weather, and nav. Was looking at a SR5, but was told all those options were add on and to go with the trail because it was stock.

Kinda surprises me. Good luck with it.

No such luck. Sirius sent a portable one though so I'm just using it. This way I can use it for my motorcycle too!

New 2014 Trail owner here as well. I'm about 2 month / 1200 miles in.

Entune/Nav/Sirius IS an option. It had a sticker price of $550 on my build.

If you want new tires, put your current ones on craigslist NOW! You should be able to get pretty good value for them... I got $350 for the set of four on CL, and I paid $650 OTD for a set of Cooper AT3s, stock size (265/70R17). It will be a far superior performing tire in rain, snow, trails, plus they look bad ass. $300 to have sweet tires for the next 3-4 year... OK.

Those stock Bridgestone Dueler's should go pretty quick and easy on CL.

Have fun!!! Looks sharp! Get 'er dirty!

Same truck - I purchased mine in march, black trail premium. Always owned Z71s in the past so this is my first 4runner. Given I sold an 06 z71 and an 11 RA camaro to go to a single vehicle- first month and a half impression is I love it. KN air, and tinted everything, the back half is dark. Interested in bilsteins up front with more aggressive tires in the future and possibly an n fab, need a powered sub for the stereo. Anyone who is running a decent chip, I would like info.

I'm guessing it is still based on trim level. I have a basic 2014 Trail. Entune yes, but no XM or NAV, and no rear sliding deck. Maybe yours is a Premium level? I am still using the XM Snap in it's 3rd ride so far and I'm a Garmin kind of guy. So I don't consider either lack to be a major loss.
