Won't be long before more of the national guard is going in to get people out. Humvees and other Military trucks might be one of the only vehicles that can get through. A friend of mine in Cleveland said their Lake Effect warning was only for 1-2 Feet of snow by Friday. It just doesn't stop!

I live where it can snow very heavily. That said, I am so glad I don't have to deal with that right now.

And to think that I'm so stupid that I agreed to go to Hamilton, ON for the whole month of December... As opposed to only moderately chilly Georgia.

Maybe there's still time to break a leg or something. I do particularly loathe winter.
 
I saw recently on NFL Live that in order to get Ralph Williams stadium cleared for Sunday's game in Buffalo, they will have to shovel 220,000 tons of snow, or equal to the weight of the biggest cargo ship in the world.

I had a friend who lived in Buffalo. I never understood why property values were so low until I got caught a 3ft blizzard there in March one year.

lol its not like those areas around ATL haven't been getting snow the last few years. at least those natives in Hamilton can at least drive when there is some white stuff on the ground compared to OMG its snow in Ga, WTF do I do now.

don't be surprised when the natives give you dirty looks, honk horns or give you crap cause your a southerner.

they did the same thing when I moved up here from Columbus.
 
Yeah I just woke up and my thermostat said 60 degrees. Brrrrr. I had to put socks on because my toes are cold. Also it's partly cloudy with a chance of rain, I don't know if I want to head outside today, it's scary out there.

My experience there last winter does not corroborate your contention of their driving abilities. ;)

Snow in GA & WTF do I do now? Stay at home & play with my kid...the roads are usually a disaster of Yankee immigrants who insist that they know how to drive in inclement weather.

Unfortunately, I've had quite a few too many opportunities to spend winters in snow-logged places like Chicago, Hamilton, Cleveland, Pittsburgh. They all suck. I've personally never had an issue...I also can't confirm that the locals in those places are any particularly better drivers than anywhere else.

My experience kinda goes like this: First snow day, everyone drives normally & there are crashes everywhere. After that, everyone knee-jerks the other way, puts on snow tires & then poke around the rest of the winter.

And yes, I'm the guy who walks on to the Emerald Isle with 6" of snow down & thinks, "hmmm, is that a Mustang with summer tires? This is gonna be awesome."
