2015 4Runner idle

My 2015 4Runner has the 4 liter it's -12 this morning I started it and it just screamed like I never heard before after driving it for 1/2 hour I stopped and put it in park and it was idling at 1200rpm so I turned the blower fan off and it idled down to around 500rpm. When it's at 1200 it sounds like shit to the point where people walk by and look at it.

Has anyone ever experienced This.

A/C compressor seizing up?

Or belt slipping?

Or alternator working overtime due to low battery charge or high current drain from fan?

I wouldn't have driven it for a half hour like that without at least opening the hood to determine where the noise was coming from at the very least, but its a '15 and you are most likely still under warranty, so let the dealer deal with it I guess...

I did open the hood I put my scope on the engine it's shows nothing I checked the belts and the alternator and other moving parts under the hood.

Curious...what's the open circuit voltage reading on the battery with engine idling and warmed up?

What setting was the blower fan on before you turned it off? If it's on either of the windshield defrost settings it will run the A/C which would explain the high idle. Try turning the fan on one of the vent settings and turning the A/C switch on and off and see if the noise comes and goes. Maybe your A/C compressor or clutch is going out.

The engine is designed to high idle until the catalytic converters reach optimal temperatures. 900-1200 rpm for a few minutes is normal.

Mine is at 1700-1800! 2013 4R SR5 4.0 L will go down after it reaches Operating Temperature, but this speed seems extreme! I suspect a sensor or the IAC has issue or leak in system! Any thoughts?

Dude, three posts in two different threads all saying the same thing is not going to get you helped any faster. Calm down. If anyone can help I'm sure they will answer.

FWIW you need to take it to a different dealer.
