I hate to part ways but i need a truck with with a bigger towing capacity for my new trailer......I have a amazing 2015 Trail Edition 4x4 with the KDSS option, it has 30,330 miles 1 owner and transferable 120,000 mile bumper to bumper warrenty or 6 years whichever comes first only mods i have a Xenon HID setup with LED DRL's and interior lights, K&N air filter and added a trailer brake for those towing needs Have more pictures if needed, will update with more info if needed guys

The warrenty was about $2,500 also added gap insurance wich was another $800. These are not cheap suv's and as for the price thats what the trail models are going for if you can find them, it was a 5 month wait for me to get mine.

A brand new truck costs MSRP $38,000 and if you special order you will get it 6-12 weeks. For a used car with this many miles you would assume a used car price not a MSRP which is negotiable from the dealer. If you want to sell it you will need to come down on the price just my .2 cents.

After taxs and warrentys it comes out to $45k, ive priced them out locally here and im right on point with price,i have wiggle room of about $1,000 if need be. Thanks everyone for your concerns

Taxes on what you paid make no difference, if someone buys this truck they will have to pay taxes. You never include that in your selling price. If I buy a brand new 4runner from the dealer for 38k and after taxes its 42k I won't price it considering I paid 42k. Also a non premium trail comes with KDSS? I am looking at Toyota website and only Trail premium has that option not Trail.

Huh? Nobody is paying the taxs again if its sold so im kinda confused by what your saying, ive sold plenty of cars and not once have somebody been taxed twice. I owe almost $37k on the 4runner im not trying to make a penny off nobody and as i stated before the trail models are selling for roughly what i owe on it give or take a thousand or so which can be easily worked out.im sure i can remove the warrenty too to bring down the price if thats a issue for anyone.

SoCal4RunnerTrail ---> Good luck with the sale! BTW, you do pay CA sales taxes on both new and used car purchases. That is why you report the sales price on the Pink, so that CA can make sure they get their pension plan. lol

To the others, LOL. The 4runner holds it's market value insanely well, to the point that many out there who would like to buy one end up with a New model. In all honesty, having bought my '16TEP last fall (had to go to AZ to find it), I was blown away at how much the dealers are getting away with selling used models for here in SoCal. So though I didn't pay much more for a new TEP, I would say that he is priced just about right for this market. It's supply and demand... it doesn't always make sense... but the fundamentals remain regardless.

Arthurhawk ---> Toyota does funny things with their website. You'll notice it if you put in a different zip code (say Mississippi), you'll find that the sell different equipment packages. KDSS is an option, it's just not normally equipped that way on the TE in SoCal.

Every time you make a purchase you pay taxes on it, so 1 car that gets re bought 10 times and registered 10 times to a different person will be taxed 10 times. It depends on the state where you are registering the vehicle of the tax percentage.

^^^^ I agree with your post in BOLD 100%, that is exactly why I am getting a brand new truck, it comes out cheaper for me to order a brand new one then trying to locate a used one and pay msrp when with a brand new truck I am getting close to 10% off from MSRP.

Yes, while operating your private used car lot, you have not collected sales tax on vehicle sales. Your confusion seems to be that all these buyers had to pay state sales tax to the man when they registered the cars.

FWIW, I sold my 2015 TEP with KDSS, weathertechs, new Cooper AT3s, and other nice goodies for $37K. It had 5K on it. AND, the 2016 hadn't been released...

And the tax thing made me chuckle. Taxes are collected with any sale, or resale. The only time you are able to sidestep tax is by trading in a vehicle to pay down the net cost of the new vehicle. This is a benefit (in MN at least) granted to the dealers to make the purchase of vehicles through dealers more financially viable. For instance, I traded in my 2012 S4 for my 2015 TEP. The S4 was valued at $32K or something... The new TEP cost was ~$40K out the door. That means the delta between the trade in, and the new purchase is $8K. That limited my taxable liability to $8K. Sure beats a $40K taxable purchase...

I was going to bring this up but I figured if the OP couldn't wrap his head around the idea that used car purchases are subject to sales tax, then the idea that a trade in can, under the right circumstances, bring you out ahead compared to a private sale then a new purchase would just blow his mind.

For market reference, we bought our 2016 Trail Edition (w/o KDSS) new for $36,122 here in the middle of nowhere and it came with a 7yr 100k $0 deductible bumper to bumper warranty (dealer promo).

I understand there's the "CA premium" in play here, so the OP's price is pretty close to reasonable in my opinion.
