2015 TRD Pro potential

Not really good for the seller when vehicle prices and taxes in CA are already absurdly high. You can buy the much better 2019+ fox suspension and a used ORP and have a better performing vehicle.

I found this on a 30 second CarMax search

https://www.carmax.com/car/18426098
2015 Trail in FL with 12k miles for $29k...

And there’s tons of other available 4Runner under 50,000 miles that are $29k or less. Don’t let these guy scam the shit out of you.

I got my brand new, 1 mile ORP with every option available for $39k. No way in hell I’d pay in the $30s for something that has over 100,000 miles on it.

Before the pandemic, TRD PRO’s were fairly easy to sell in California either private party or a dealer. The trim sells itself regardless of the high prices and absurd taxes. People still bought them. But with the current times and people losing their jobs, I’m sure that will change.

It's certainly a buyers market right now, both new and used. Car dealers looking to sell anything they have on inventory with some good financing options. People who have lost their jobs, furloughed, or taken pay cuts now looking to dump their built up rigs for much less than what they want. To be honest in the past 6 months or so the 5th gen market has really dried up and slowed down. Overall sales has slowed, people bored with their rides, full size trend etc etc. It's been tough to sell a 5th gen lately even before the pandemic but now it's nearly impossible to sell it for what you wanted. Bet there are some some amazing deals to be had for those that are above water financially right now.

Thank you guys for all the input. We ended up passing on the idea and didn't go look at. Hubby talked me into waiting another year or two for when his Bimmer is paid for and we can go look for a much, much newer Runner, which is really what I want. I'll just keep busy tinkering with the 1st gen until then :)

Having my TRD pro for 5.5 years (I never keep cars that long), it has been fantastic. Zero issues and plan on having it for some time.

Good luck and find the right rig.

That is a great plan, and a sweeeeet 1st gen!

it's cool when people ask the community a question, and weigh the responses and follow the advice. Cheers!

From that picture in the garage that looks like my 2018 TRD OR. Did they add the FJ style roof rack & Black the front of the Hood Scoop after 2015 on the Pro's?? Way too much with that many miles IMHO.
