2016 4Runner Build

So now that I've hit my 15 post minimum I can now add a build thread here!

I have been in the market for a 4R for the past few months and finally landed on a Trail Premium in White. I got so excited I ended up purchasing an Icon stage 2 kit, SCS SR8 wheels and Nitto Ridge Grapplers (285/70/17) all before the truck even made it to the US. I just got word that the vehicle has been PDI'd and ready for delivery. So excited to pick it up tonight and the lift/wheels/tires are scheduled for install Friday morning. Next on the build list is a Gobi Stealth rack with Rigid eSeries light bar and an ARB 50 qt fridge/freezer for the longer trips.

I'll post some pics once it's in my garage, but here is a photo of my mods waiting patiently to be installed.

This post made me smile... :cowboy: I don't know if I have ever seen anyone buy this much mods while before truck arrives.

Good for you and ENJOY!!

Wow I'm insanely jealous. I just purchased my first 4Runner and went with the 2016 SR5 in black. Absolutely love it but I'm anxious to start modding it. What are some good mods I can do to get her off road ready?

Finally got back from the dealership. Love the way she rides, but can't wait for the suspension and wheels/tires to get installed...Can't Friday come sooner????

I would say get some decent rubber and wheel it stock. That way you can take your time figuring out what you want to do to it. I did my research for a few months while I was looking for the truck so I was able to decide on what I wanted/needed.

My tires finally arrived and I can't wait to get them on the truck! I'm so glad I ended up getting the Ridge Grapplers vs. the Toyo RTs as the sidewalls are much more aggressive.

Sick, brother! Can't wait to see it tomorrow. I have my lift in the mail arriving tuesday morning and hope to have my install done that same morning. I even set it up with UPS to hold my shipment at the hub so I don't have to wait all day for delivery.. I'll pick it up in the morning and hopefully head to the install shop to get it done.

Then straight from there to discount tire to put on some 285 KO2's.

Do you plan on doing alignment right away, or wait until it settles after a few days?

I guess I should start a build thread, also!

I am getting the alignment done initially because we are taking it out of town this weekend. I'll take it back to the shop in a few weeks once the springs have settled and get the alignment re-done.

Congrats on your lift coming in, it is tough waiting for things to get done, but it will be worth it.

And I thought me ordering my license plate before I bought the 4R was bad...

Should look good OP :thumb3:

Interested to see what you think about those tires. Your setup is going to look real nice! Congrats!

it's done...ITS DONE...ITS DONE!!!!

The wheels/tires look better than I expected and the ride is almost identical to my Terra Grapplers, which means pretty plush considering they are an E rated tire.

We're taking a trip up to Havasupai Point this weekend so I'll have a better idea of how these tires perform on and off road.

I can't wait to get the Gobi Rack/Light Bar in so we can get that mounted up next!

Always been a big fan of the white runners and great setup so far. I'm also curious to see your feelings on the ridge grapplers. I've got some mickey thompsons MTZ and have had a few scares on wet days (to be expected with mud terrains I suppose). These could be an interesting compromise.

This shop is right by Camelback Toyota! How would you rate their work and customer service? The shop looks legit!

I am in Chandler, I will keep a eye out for your awesome looking T4R on the road. Looks fantastic, enjoy.

Great choice on the bronze also. That is what I would have purchased had I got a white runner. I love bronze wheels, but I have a silver runner so it would have looked odd.

They do a great job and are very competitive on price. My brother had his Rubicon and 4R lifted there too and are extremely happy with their service/results.

I can't get enough of this truck! Here are a couple pictures next to my brothers new TEP. He did the Bilstein front leveling kit and added 285 Terra Grapplers.

Very Nice

Props given for a very clean and tasteful start to your build. I have a white 2016 SR5 with a similar build so far (Icon stage 2, black trd pro wheels and 285 KO2s). I ordered my Gobi stealth May 14...it may arrive within the next month...I'm not in a rush.

Good luck and happy trails!

I'll try to figure out the picture thing and start a thread like this.
