2016 T4R running board options

I'm in the market for 2016 SR5 Premium and am not sure about the Rigid running boards that I see on a lot of them. I've seen ones with a chrome/silver strip as well. Is there somewhere I can look at all the factory options for running boards?

Honestly...google images! Use that to narrow it down, post pics if the ones you like and then ask for more opinions (or model #). I have the rigid on mine, here is a pic when I put them back on after going "off-piste" the other week.

The chrome with silver tip is for a slightly different body type. They'll hang a few inches lower. I think rigid is it for OEM
 
Not my image but I have these same "crushed oval step boards" on my silver 2016 TEP. I like them since they ride high and tight to the vehicle, (allowing good ground clearance), but still provide a step for the missus. Ordered them when I picked up the TEP and had them installed by the dealer a week later.

Yes but if you look at the picture of the one above your post the Factory Running boards for the SR5 also have the chrome. The "trail" running boards and "rigid" from port are the all black. You can get any option if "ordered" to be installed from port. You can also order through the dealership (although IIRC people have issues getting the rigid ordered after port, hence why there is a strong market for them in classifieds). You can also order different versions through dealerships just like [MENTION=136342]blues[/MENTION] showed on his TEP.

I ordered (KH) Rigid running boards from the dealer with my purchase of a new 2016 TEP and they look different than shown on toyota.com and in the brochure. They are these:

Googling shows these on 2012 4runners. I believe the newer stock ones I see are standard for 2014+ 4runners. Did the dealer dump old running boards on me and does anyone know the part number of the new ones?

The second link are the ones that came on my 2015 TE from the dealer FWIW.

My only gripe is the "embossing" on them holds water like cheap gold fish pond so you have to wipe them out and treat them or they, well, start to look like and old fish pond. :-)

They are the "Rigid" running board. The option code when "ordering" is KH. They mention them in this thread.

They are a port accessory, so if you don't have your dealer/salesperson "order" that part at port for you they are tough to come by (except the pop up every now and then on the classifieds here).

I find they are very practical for what they are...running boards. My 4 year old daughter loves them and call them "her step". They do make it easier to access the roof when loading things like my skybox, paddle/surfboards, skis or bikes on the roof. I do remove them when I go off roading as they can be a damage multiplier if too big of an impact.

If I had to do it over again, I would have put the $ towards some step style rock sliders such as C4 Fab, Hefty Fab, or Shrockworks, but they still come in at twice the cost.

I am very happy with them for what they are, but I am finding that as I take the 4runner off road more and more, sliders will eventually be a better option.

I had rigid running boards on on my 2015 SR5, that i installed myself



when it got totaled, I put N-Fab nerf bars on my TRD Pro

 
Cymon, I found a set on Craigslist that I think are like yours. They have the same tread design as the rear bumper step. I'm going to check them out today.

Rock sliders with steps are a good choice also. It is more sturdy and provides side protection. The Amp power step is expensive yet will look cool and ground clearance will not be affected.
