2017 4Runner Colors (Let's speculate...)

Know what’s funny? I swore as an adult I would NEVER buy a black car for myself... I live in TX (hello 100+ summers), I try hard to take care of my cars with washing/waxing/staying on top of scratches, etc. (read: IMPOSSIBLE with a black car), and frankly, it’s just kind of boring color in general. YET... I find myself liking my Attitude Black TEP. It’s a mean looking color when it’s cleaned up... but it looks good all dirtied up as well. Never thought I’d say that. The heat part sucks... but when it’s 105 outside, any car is freegin’ hot.

If I could have any color, it’s prob be the blue. I love deep blues. But we just bought my wife the deep blue QX60... sooooo, that’s not gonna happen. When the black TEP goes, if I get another T4R (which is highly probable), I will prob go dark grey again (with all black accents). Grey just hides everything well, but still looks good both dirty & clean. Easy to maintain.

Every time I go to Texas, I'm amazed at all of the black cars! haha! Black is sharp, but I don't think I could keep up with keeping it clean enough. I have the medium blue 2004 4Runner, it hides the dirt well enough yet looks awesome clean. I think the 2016 gray is the closest thing to compare it too. The Nautical blue is too dark for me.

My old Tacoma was that Toyota dark green and I loved it. I wish the 4R came in a dark green like the Tacoma and Land Cruiser had.

If the 2017 4R isn't available in Green, then I'm gonna get Cement, if I decide on a 4R over a LC. None of the other colors interest me... the green will be harder to keep looking decent but at least it'll be different (kinda like the blue, don't see many blue 4runners on the road...at least around here).

The LC200 colors are the same for 2017 as 2016, not a single change = boring.

I was also torn between SW and MGM. My car I just sold was a pearl white and I wanted to try something else. Waited out and found my MGM TE. I would def have sprung for a green if it was offered.

Everything seems to point to December/January. I sure hope they come out sooner but am not getting my hopes up anymore.

I'm not going to tell anyone the colors and you will see the 2017 4Runner information in a few (maybe three) weeks. You will be able to get the 2017's in late September/October.

The wait is killing me. This will be my first new car since I bought my SR5 in 2004! Thanks for the info. I was wondering if dealers were just saying December so I'd buy a 2016! They've been very pushy about that, but I know that's their job.

The current sale event ends on 9/6, so I figured they'll probably wait until after then to release more info.

I will keep waiting and hope the wait is worth it!

Few reasons I just went ahead and jumped on a 2016. I did not want TRD OffRoad badges, I did not like the black coloring on the Trail wheels nor did I like the TRD badged headrests otherwise I would have waited. Plus, I wanted a Trail. I know, technically they are the same but...

Those are all good reasons to me! At least you had enough information to make that decision. I just want another SR5, so I have no clue if I should be snapping up a 2016 or if this waiting will be worth it or not. That's the part that is really driving me nuts. :frusty::help:

Any chance we'll get leather or updated interiors similar to the new Taco? On the PRO.

Those types of changes are normally not made except for mid-year refreshes and Generation changes. I highly doubt they would change the interior to that of the new Tacomas with one year left on the 5th generation.

Makes sense. I'm thinking I'll go with a Taco Pro this year and hold out for a 6th gen 4Runner in 18! Either way, I just want a 4wd Yota!

What makes you say that after all the info from Toyota is saying January?

Dealers started posting more info on their web sites recently saying things like "this fall" and "later this year." It doesn't sound like we'll have to wait for January, unless you want a specialized model, maybe those will be harder to find at first.

According to the most recent launch calendar we received from Toyota it's January. Until that changes I don't believe any other sources.

Maybe they are selling pre-2017 models..the closest thing you can probably get until late Dec/Jan. :horn:

I doubt any of these happen for 17, but hopefully 18. I have the Nautical Blue now and love it. Been a huge fan of these Toyota colors they have used in the past.

1. Heritage Blue

2. Spruce Mica

3. Shoreline Blue (LOVE this color. Wish they would have kept it.)
