Hi guys,
Just had my aftermarket wheels and tires installed a few days ago and one of the studs on the right front broken broke in half... Truck has roughly 1,600kms (1,000mi) on it and wheels have come off probably 4-5 times for things here and there. But a broken stud? No threads seem to be stretched when looking at it either. Went to torque the studs to 85tq and the one just kept spinning more than I would have thought. I stopped, backed it off and inspected it looked ok so I tried again and boom it broke. I am definitely not happy about this and think that these stock studs are junk. Does anyone have any recommendations/experience with this? I have one new stud sitting in my truck but the more I think about it the more I want to replace all the studs on the front (left and right) while I am at it. Let me know your thoughts on this.
Thanks, Mike.
