Hey gang,
I’m in need of some advice. I’ve had my 10k services and noticed that my tires are shaking really bad after that service. I was told that the dealer rotated the tires but did not balance them as they don’t do that when they rotate. After I’ve told them it is shaking really bad they took it in one more time and told me they’ve balanced all 4 tires and everything was perfect. Once again I’ve noticed that it’s shaking really bad. I got the dealer to take it in and balance the front again. They found that some weights were peeled off and they re balanced it one more time. I looked at my odometer and noticed they put almost 30 miles while at the shop. Was told that it was because they had to drive it to make sure it really is off balance and then they balanced it and drive it again. I picked it up and a few days later got on the highway and noticed it is shaking again (maybe not as bad but still annoying). I looked at the rim and it looks like there are about 24 pieces of weights on the front and about 8 on the inside of the rim on the left side rim and about 12 on the right side. I’ve called Toyota directly and they have a case number. I’m almost tempted to take it to a place like Costco or Tread Quaters to pay for the balance just to prove that the dealer is either hired some incompetent techs or their balancing machine is not properly calibrated. What do you guys think, isn’t that amount of weight is excessive or maybe the rim is bent?
