what do you think about the automatic running boards on the limited models. I'm sure its optional, because alot of the limiteds had stationary running boards. With that said, I did like the way it comes out when the door is open and then retracks itself, it gives it a cleaner look. My only thought is a motor that eventually will need to be replaced. Didnt check how much the option cost but it had to be 2 grand. Maybe thats an option that has been available for years, but its the first one i ever saw.

I have them. I like them. They stick out far enough when deployed to actually be usable and not get in the way like most stationary boards.

Great idea, and aftermarket companies have had them out for well over a decade. I wouldn't worry about the motor. Only thing is if you do even the slightest bit of offloading I would be worried about damaging the boards or mechanisms since they run the length of the entire side of the car.
