2018 NFL Playoffs

Well that escalated quickly. Now now kids, How about getting back on topic?

Gronk is cleared to play:eyebrows: I think Gillisle is sitting this one.

Its really going to come to if the Eagles can get to brady fast. Long has a big job.

I agree. As well as if the Eagles are able to take a lead in the 4th, how they will react. Obviously it's easy to say that you can't continue to play it safe and try to get into a clock game as the Jags and Falcons did, but it's easier said than done.

Not just Long, it will be the whole D-line. If the Eagles replicate what the G-men did (from a defensive perspective), they have a chance.

Another year, another SB for Elan! Go Pats!

Things are certainly heating up, the game I think will be decided by a touchdown or less, which is to say it's anyone's game to win or lose.

call me crazy, but I don't remember this much media attention around the super bowl in years past, I mean the Patriots have been to 4 out of the last 5 super bowls, and I have lived in the new England TV market for all of them but it seems every time I turn on the TV they're broadcasting live from the mall of America, is this being over covered, or did I just not notice before?

I agree, I think a lot of the added coverage is reeling people into the “watch Brady make history”. The afc championship game was the most watched program since.... last years Super Bowl. It’s more of a “how far can he go” than “let’s watch two great teams have at it” I cringe at how many times they have to bring up his age in a single game. And if I hear another thing about his damn hand bandaid imight have to slash my own hand.

Is Romo doing this game? I actually like him but he talks a little too much.

I hope not. I do think he has some good insight at times, but agree that he talks way to much. My biggest no on him is just his voice. Not a fan. To me that's one of the most important things if I'm going to be listening to them for an extended period of time.

I actually like Romo as a commentator. His analysis is typically spot on, and he doesn't annoy me like Chris Collinsworth or Joe Buck do. I can't stand listening to them do games. Nothing will ever be as bad as Rex Ryan on that first MNF game this season though...

Edit: Looks like Collinsworth and Al Michaels are the commentators.

i like romo as a color analyst, too. so much better than phil simms, who was awful for years. indeed, romo does a nice job of detailing not just what happened, but anticipating the play call.

My football favorites were Madden and Keith Jackson.

Anymore thoughts on the game? I'm pulling for Philly for no other reason than that they haven't won one before.

I'm pulling for the Patriots, pretty sure that was clear, but just incase there was any confusion. It's going to be close, certainly the Pats game to lose. I am bracing for another nail biter, I was worried about Jacksonville too. Haven't really felt like a win was in the bag since the Titans. I am excited, certainly not sure the Pats will win, but that's what makes a fun game to watch!!

Can't believe it but the city has its first Super Bowl Trophy. The parade is going to be nuts. Fly. Eagles. Fly.:bluejump:

GO EAGLES!!!!

Good game, with the perfect ending for me. I'm excited for our future, if we could do this missing an MVP caliber QB, all-pro left tackle, starting middle LB, and all our other injuries I can't wait to see what we can do in a season we stay healthy. This is just one of many more to hopefully come to Philly.

Collinsworth should never be allowed to commentate another football game though. He would not stop talking about Tom Brady like he was his perfect prodigal son for the entire game. Someone should remind him there's 52 other players on the Patriots team. I know I can't be the only one who observed this. Clearly a biased commentator...

the game was highly entertaining. neither defense was very good, but eagles came up with a huge play in crunch time.

as far as colinsworth, you are ridiculous. he was fawning all over foles and pederson the entire night, too. so he wasn't one-sided. the bias is yours.

for all the hate, new england has not blamed anyone for the loss, except themselves. no crying about the officials (hello, jacksonville and pittsburgh), still had a chance to put it to OT. philly played better overall; they deserved to win. should also end the debate, brady was outstanding, but the defense couldn't stop a nosebleed. foles was also excellent, and deserved MVP.

Well, that didn't go as planned. It was a great game and the Eagles played very well, they deserved the win. I thought the Pats were still in it, good chance of going to over time all the way up until the strip/sack then it was over. Is Philly OK? on fire? wonder how many police horses got punched last night...

A very entertaining game indeed. Impressed by both teams. Pulled out all the stops. Petersen played to win all game. Also, it didn't seem like he held back with Foles at all. Which was also evident in the Minnesota game. Most would change to protect the backup. If they had done anything like that, the Patriots would have rolled over them given how the defenses were playing. Not sure if it was nerves, but so many blown coverages and tackles on both sides.

The 4th and goal play will get replayed for the life of the NFL. What will get lost is the 4th and 1 play and call with around 5min left in the game from their own 45. Blow that play and most likely the game with it.

I am curious if we will find out why they benched Malcolm Butler. Seemed like he didn't find out until this week, if not maybe even just before the game. His post-game interview definitely showed how surprised/pissed he was about it.

the "rumor" I heard regarding butler, and it's doubtful that we'll ever get more than rumors, was that he had missed one or more team meetings recently, and that he made the plane, and therefore the whole team late to fly to Minnesota... Coach has no tolerance for that sort of B.S. I doubt Butler will play for the Pats next year. Ah Rumors
