2018 Wont Start after a wire shorted

Shorted a wire right under the steering column during a remote Starter install. Lost the dash lights, DVD/Radio Nav and also wont start. Replaced the 30A ST fuse in the engine bay and got the dash lights working. Radio and engine still wont start. I've checked the cabin fuses and they're all okay. Windows also wont roll down.

Any suggestions?

Meter every fuse. They can look ok, but not.

Are you sure the remote start was installed correctly?

I checked the continuity on all of the fuses, all were okay except the 30AMP ST fuse in the engine bay. Ended up pulling all of the fuses in the cabin and one fuse labeled AMI was popped. Not sure why the continuity test passed when it was plugged in. =o(

Fuses should always be removed for testing - and test with a meter. I suggest all the remote start wiring be disconnected; so electrically everything is as it was. This will eliminate the remote start unit and any bad or incorrect connections. Then as suggested above, check all fuses, relays under the hood.

Then I'd look up the start sequence as to what happens when the key is turned to on; and then when turned to start to see if something is not working in that sequence.

Sometimes you need battery connected to test but just be cautious of what you do. I did alarm installs for over 8 years without incident.

still most likely a fuse. I think the 5th gen has a pack of fuses that can only be replaced as a pack under the hood. I saw it in another thread

Thanks for the suggestions
The vehicle is back up and running. There were two fuses that popped 30AMP ST fuse and 7.5AMP fuse labeled AM1.

Anyone know if the AM1 fuse in the cabin feeds the BCM or ECU?

I did removed the remote starter and will reinstall weather permitting.

At work we call that a dirty open. Just barely enough for continuity, not enough to actually close the circuit.

you can check them with a meter without removing them by checking voltage or voltage drop, pretty sure that's why fuses have the test spots at the top
