I hear it's going 4 cylinder only, front wheel drive unibody. Colors available will be pink, lavender and spring peach. And it will only be sold to transsexuals.

I've talked to some people at Toyota that were in a position to see what's coming.
They didn't mention a uni body and that would conflict the rav4 as well as the highlander.
But there was talk of the 4runner being killed this year if a certain political party took the white house. I laughed when he told me that, he did not laugh and said that is very likely. But since that didn't happen, who knows where it will go now. It's due for a refresh, IMO they could leave it alone, just add a bigger engine option and it would sell for another 10 years.

I had heard the same thing. The problem is, mpg requirements may get slashed, for now but it may only be for 4-5 years depending on what happens in the next presidential election. Do auto mfg's have an all out HP war or do they continue trying to reach unrealistic mpg figures by shrinking engines and lowering ride height, just for 4 years? I do hope Toyota wakes up and gives us the Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner we all want and deserve.

Btw haven't you all heard of Chevy and Toyota joining forces to put the 454 in a 4Runner? Or that it's gonna come with a straight axle from the factory and whatever other buzzwords you guys like.
