what’s so dangerous about the side curtain airbag switch?

If the computer thinks you are in a rollover situation it deploys the side curtain and seatbelt tensioners. Side curtain airbags can prematurely deploy in off horizontal angles. RSCA in years 10-13 lets you disable that function via button hold, BUT reenables after an ignition/on cycle. Post 13 they changed something about it, I can't remember what, but it is different. So great tech on road, possibly not so much off.

Looks like a TRD Pro dual exhaust may be new.

The TSS-P mentions lane departure assist which would require electric power steering, so maybe that's new too?

It also says rear leaf springs for suspension though which makes be doubt the above. May be copy/paste from Tacoma.

Standard Lane Departure Assist relies only on cameras and can be run with hydraulic power steering... the version that has Lane Keep Assist requires electronic power steering because it can actively steer to keep you in the lane.

The thought is that the 4Runner will just have LDA without LKA - allowing it to keep hydraulic power steering.

Standard Lane Departure Assist is just a warning, right?

The last bullet under TSS-P also lists Lane Departure Alert which sounds more like the standard version without active steering. That's why I was thinking electric power steering for the assist bullet. I agree that EPS is unlikely given the other changes are all so minor.

Yes, in a sense. Imagine in a winching situation, off angle, in a ditch or similar. You stop, shut the vehicle off, secure best you can, setup rigging, start vehicle, forget to push RSCA button being preoccupied with everything else, start winch pull, teeter, airbags deploy. I don't think it is too hard to image other scenarios.

But whatever, if there is a level of sarcasm, it should come with green text, so I may reply with a proper derogatory response : :madgrin:

God forbid you tap someone with your bumper at 3mph. The costs to repair all of those radar sensors is astronomical. With the huge repair costs, your insurance just doubled.

I went from a 2005 Tacoma to a 2015 and my rate dropped. Perplexed, i asked my insurance agent. He said that all the safety features are what lowered my rate.

Ah, got it. Thanks. I too have forgotten to push the button again after a lunch stop so it's not hard to image at all. I just wasn't sure what you were meaning.

Not sure about 5 speed, but the Dodge Journey still boasts a 4 speed in certain trims!

Bought a '19 PRO in November and love it. Wish it had CarPlay and the new TRD dual exhaust. I do miss the SmartKey from my limited. Laser Cruise I like too on a Highlander I drove. Still no better headlight option? 2020 would be perfect if it had LED headlights. If they made Cement with LED headlights and new upgrades all listed in this thread I would probably trade in for a 2020.

I would take the new Land Cruiser Prado. I could have taken the current Land Cruiser, but it is too large and easy to trash for my use (hunting trips and such).

Now the question is, do I get a 2019 TRD ORP in a couple months or wait until fall to get 2020 ORP with the Android Auto support? Decisions decisions...

Love the Army Green, but the standard moon roof on the Pro makes it not an option for me. I need every inch of headroom I can get.

19' ORP with KDSS and vinyl wrap it army or whatever color you prefer and FOX 2.5 with DSC. That'll be roughly same price as a PRO but with better suspension

Info card says TRD Pro Dual Exhaust. Someone at the show would have to verify that though.

Or wrap it any other color. I saw this Taco on the TW forum wrapped with Midnight Sand Metallic by Avery looks like a lighter shade to army and flatter
