A local dealer has a 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro out front.. the TSS module didnt stick out as much as I thought it would. Are the Taco's arriving before the 4runners?
I know the C-HR isn’t a 4Runner, but it may be an indicator of possible higher costs considering the similarity of the TSS system sensors used.
On the other hand, if the technology keeps you from having a more serious collision, maybe it’s worth it...
A video on the TRD Off-Road, appears it won't have dual climate like the pro
I think what I was alluding to was the repair costs to keep such safety systems maintained and properly functioning. Now, I can't help but think that insurance companies will find a way to price in the percentage of individuals who can't or won't replace broken parts or do calibrations due to their cost. Insurance doesn't pay for maintenance of expensive systems.

You sure it was not a 2019, TSS was on the Tacoma in 2019.
There are some things that even a driver whose 100% paying attention can't control/avoid. Ask me how I know....
I do agree and still question sometimes the reasoning behind lane departure if you're truly undercontrol, but BSM and adaptive cruise I see being HUGE life savers and sadly we only get one.
Since there has been absolutely no mention of the Limited model officially or in order guides, I am guessing that it really wont be changing - same exterior colors, same interior colors, same wheels, same accents, + the other things every trim gets: 8" screen, CarPlay, Android Auto, Alexa, TSS-P, etc.
I was worried that Canada's "3 row only" rule would have applied to the US, but if so, that would have been mentioned as a model change in the order guide notes... and it wasn't.
Now the question: Is it worth trading in a 2016 with 28k miles for a 2020?
The new Venture model basically sounds like the early 5th gen trails with the black body cladding and handles.
Keeping in mind that electrical components can and do fail for reasons other than an accident and therefore not being a candidate for an insurance claim, their replacement would be totally voluntary. I have no idea what the lifespan is for these parts.
Good morning everyone, I am currently at a cross roads with making a purchase. Looking at both the 2019 and 2020 4Runners and would like input from current owners of the 2019. I am viewing the TRD ORP no sunroof or any other packages, i know that car play and Android auto are being added a slightly larder screen, and all the safety features from Toyota. I have never owned a car with Android auto, or a screen bigger than what is currently offered, my concerns are I want to use this vehicle as my DD and slowly work my way back to mild off roading on the weekend. Will all the added tech (Toyota Safety) be something that could cause me issues down the road when I start going off road? I understand they can be turned off but if something completely fails (radar ect) will that leave me stranded will it cause all sorts of CEL? I have never had a vehicle with all these safety features so I am in a new world when it comes to this, in fact my last DD I used off-road I had a Ford 8.8 with a Detroit locker in the back and if you have ever sat in a TJ you know I wasn't worried about electrical stuff. I kinda figure if I get a 19 i wont be sad about the lack of car play and other features as I have never owned a vehicle that has had them so you can't miss what you dont have?
