2020 TRD Pro Updates - Army Green & Push Button Start

I’m questioning my order now. Seriously. Is TSS, sunroof, JBL and a new head unit, CarPlay, push button start and keyless doors worth $6765? I want to say yes but my guilt may overpower my desires.

Seeing as the base trim levels get the majority of those features as well without the $3000 uptick, I'd say the answer is "no"

Seems they're just doing the "**** it, these people will pay whatever we ask of them" method.

Said it in the other thread but I'll say it here too, I'm usually not one to complain about price hikes as cars get more fancy, but $3000 without a complete overall redesign seems incredibly ridiculous. Especially when a basic SR5 gets the same technology upgrades over previous years as all the other trims without the equivalent hike.

Thank you everyone for all the information! I actually found the color and package I wanted 2019 TRD ORP no options which was what brought this post about. Based on the above pricing I am gonna see if I can get that smoking deal on a 2019 and play the card of your 2020's are rolling in who wants a 2019 on the lot?!? If i cant get a great deal I may just order a 2020 but we shall see! Once again though thank you everyone who responded I appericate you taking the time to provide the information.

I bought my '18 a year ago this month. At the time I waited to see what was in store for the '19's and it turns out the price went up, the color was too blue for my tastes and I had no desire for a sunroof or the fox set-up. So I jumped into my current ride. Now seeing what's in store for the '20's I'm so glad I'm at where I'm at. It's definitely go season now, currently cars dot com shows "over 206" new voodoo's I suspect these will now go pretty quickly and they won't be getting any cheaper.

Talk about milking a cow till it's dry. How the hell does Toyota think they can justify the price hike by adding an 8" screen. This is some crazy Apple style marketing.

Surprised they aren't charging an extra 5k if you want it in green.

I'm not too worried about the TSS one way or the other, and I'll for sure appreciate the larger / better infotainment system, but the push-button start is what is absolutely what is making me wait for a 2020.

If dealers have been able to get away with selling TRD Pros at or above MSRP, that could be a reason to raise prices.

Amazing that there’s a $6K difference between the 2018 and 2020. I wonder what that will do to TRD Pro resale values — should keep them up?

CarsDirect has reported MSRP for MY2020. This is the first report I’ve seen with pricing for the new models.

• TRD Pro: $50,885 (increase of $2,975 from last year)
• ORP: $43,340 (up $2,100)
• OR: $39,765 (up $1,280)
• SR5P: $40,335 (up $2,100)
• SR5: $37,140 (up $735)

Still no details on the reported Venture or rumored Overland editions.

There is no concrete release date for the 2020 Toyota 4Runner, but we expect production to launch in August 2019 for an October 2019 on-sale date.

Just got confirmation by my dealer that the 2020MY will start showing up on showroom floors in Sept/Oct. So those of you too anxious to wait(like me), start contacting your sales reps!!

My dealer told me the same dates - Sept/Oct.

I have my eyes on the ORP as well. $2,100 for TSS-P, a muuuuch nicer head unit, and keyless entry/start seems worth it to me. The Pro is just a rip off, never going to happen for me, but a few of us will definitely pick one up!

Backhanded comments like this, along another comment in the other 2020 price thread where someone by the name of GripT4R said "hipsters will buy it" are entirely uncalled for. I definitely wouldn't fall into any of those categories by a long shot, so am I just a schmuck?

Why does it matter who is willing to pay for it, or how one chooses to spend their money for that matter? Do you think the people in this thread are happy about the price increases and just want to throw money at Toyota just because they finally get the features they've been waiting for? We don't have much of a choice how much Toyota chooses to charge us, but some think that the changes are worth the cost.

It's one thing to express your strong distaste for what Toyota is doing with the 4Runner, but we're all part of the same community here, and there's no reason to smear others because they find value in different things than you do.

Thank you! I just got off the phone with my wife about this topic. I feel guilty for wanting to keep my pro reservation, but she's the one who told me to just shut up and get the vehicle. We budgeted for it planning that this will finally be the last 4runner. We're trading in the '18 pro and the resale is still amazing for it. Plus, this was supposed to be my graduation gift after working full time and being a full time student the last 8 years. I'm not a hipster. I'm not a trust fund kid. I'm a late 30's working professional with a family.

While I am cringing over the price hike, this vehicle checks every single box for me, especially the army green box that I've been waiting 5 years to check off. My wife also pointed out that the extra ~6k from the MY18 to MY20 pro includes more than just the standard things on every trim like TSS-P and the new head unit, but also things I've been missing out on like push button start, keyless entry, sunroof, JBL, and the color.

You can judge me all you want, but at the end of the day if my wife says to get it... I'm doing what I'm told to do.

This is nothing new. He just takes information that everyone else gets and watches himself talk about it on YouTube. I called around, and even my source says nothing other than that preliminary sheet with the upgrades and the pricing sheet have been dispersed at the dealership level. If I get the ordering guide before anyone else I'll throw it up here. I'd presume we'll get it within the next week or two with all the drip feeding Toyota has done this past month, which fits in line with the presumptive launch being Sep/Oct timeframe.

The table I received from my dealer shows no change to the exterior or interior colors for the Limited. Redwood is still available (except with Barcelona Red).

I think we bought ours the same day in Burien last June? I'm happy for you but can't see parting with my beautiful Cav Blue Pro especially after all the cool stuff I've added... and did I mention how much I love the Blue? Do you just like Green that much more? Seems quick to ditch yours.
