Haha. I concur. Lexus had such flowing, beautiful styling in the 90s (think LS400 and SC300/400). I’ve had the latter. What the hell happened?

The worst part of Lexus now is how old, underpowered and outdated everything is. I don't mind their new design language, although I am a fan of some of the older stuff like you are - I had both a GS 300 and LS 430 - but the engineering advancement is just completely missing these days.

Isn't the Pro also lifted? 1" in the front I believe, but still lifted.
My salesman also didn't know they sold the TRD OFP without a moon roof :wow2:

It's about 3/4" in real world but the papers claim 1", about as minimum of a lift as you can get and still be considered a lift.

So...
Went to my dealer and they still haven't gotten anything from Toyota. However, they were able to place a reserve/order on what I wanted TRDORP w/KDSS. We did not see the Venture or Overland option, so wonder if that will be locale specific???
Some of the "new" options that we hadn't seen before include:
V1-Dashcam
TRD Performance Package (we couldn't fine out the package list of items)
6P-TRD Pro Exhaust
Most of the other options were the standard items.
Colors were the same, but instead of Barcelona Red Metallic, they listed Red MM instead, so not sure of that is a change or not.
Regardless, I was let down that they had no real information to share and these guys are pretty upfront about things. Hopefully my T4R will be showing up in a month or two...

He called back to parts and they didn’t even have the TRD Pro exhaust (cat back) in their system. So I’m starting to wonder if details are going to gradually slip out or if the Mother Ship is going to do a massive dump and overwhelm dealers?
I could have walked out today in a ‘19 TRDORP w/KDSS, boards and roof for $38k...but not the color I want and still want some of the new stuff...

I am looking at trading in my Taco for a new 4runner. (I am wanting a SR5 Premium) Thinking about waiting for the 2020 model, but if it is going up by nearly 3000 I might just try to get a great deal on a 2019 and then use the difference on better tires and stereo.
Only TRD Pro is going up by $3000. Guessing they're letting the boys with deep wallets subsidize the upgrades on all the lower trim levels.
SR5 is only going up by less than $1000.

With it being a “new” model with the infotainment and safety features, I’m expecting Toyota to remove the “Keep it Wild” savings. Probably at least for the rest of the year, I’d assume, since it’ll be in high demand for a few months.
That drives the cost up a bit again.

As we’ve been discussing, the only thing I was waiting for was a powertrain upgrade, and since it didn’t happen, I just decided to go with the 2019 :shrug:
CarPlay and TSS-P aren’t a real big deal for me personally, so it was an easy choice.
I was also in a minor accident last year and my car has had this strange popping noise in the front end ever since that the dealer can’t fix. My warranty ends 11/30 and I didn’t want to keep the car outside of the warranty period fearing something might have been wrong or damaged with the XREAS.
Buying a 2019 gives me time to wait for a 6th gen refresh somewhere around 2024-2025.
I was on the same boat waiting for the 2020, but when i saw how little the changes were, i started looking in the use market. I was able to find a 2018 demo with 6500kms for 10000$ below msrp + tax so 11500$ off. Since mine is a limited the changes are even less.
Let see what they will come with in 2024?
