2020 TRD Pro Updates - Army Green & Push Button Start

I found the reason for the extra chrome strip next to the Toyota logo on the 2020. 
It allows you to easily see which dealers are claiming to have a 2020 but are actually showing photos of a 2019.
For example, this one, which is supposedly a 2020 Limited: Link
Looks like they have a 2020 VIN, but the photos are definitely of a 2019.
I’ve used it in rental vehicles when traveling. I know a lot of folks don’t like Apple Maps, but I like it it and it integrates well with my Apple Watch — nice to have it tap me when it’s time to turn. One thing it offers that’s better than the built-in Toyota’s nav (at least on my 2015): Apple Maps tells you which lane it recommends based on upcoming turns. You can also use Google Maps and Waze, if you want.
Personally, I’d anticipate it being much more useful to me if it were wireless (vs. having to plug your phone in to use it), but I’ve read some terrible review’s of BMW’s wireless CarPlay implementation. Maybe that’s why most of the other implementations are wired only.

I've got carplay in my Taco. It's the plug in version on a Alpine HU. I honestly don't know if there is much benefit unless you talk and text a ton. Or really like a map program.
For music, its more annoying and more limited than using bluetooth as far as options for finding and searching for songs, at least on Pandora. And I am assuming the same limitations on Spotifty.
It is nice for google maps to be on the HU. But I find the regular nav on the 4 runner, or even runing it off a phone is good enough.
The only thing 2020 does for me is Army Green. And TBH I'm starting to reconsider with this insane price.
I can get a f-pace Jag for less, and not even the base trims.

I drove a Ford as a lease for a while and Car Play was really nice. I do a lot of voice to text, which you can do without it, but the integration was good. I also like Waze, also integrated.
I know this is a TRD thread, but I largely did the same for my limited. Was ready to pull the trigger on a 19, but have waited for the 20 for exactly the same reasons.

CarPlay is great. Flawless integration with your phone for Navigation (Google Maps and Waze included), Music (iTunes, Podcasts, Pandora), Siri Voice Texting etc...

I got one in Denver as a rental and I really didn't like it. I was excited when they gave me the key and was incredibly disappointed.

Good to hear an honest review! Dissapointing though, and I haven't heard a ton of good stuff about long term on these newer jags either.

I think I mentioned this earlier in the thread but I would have considered the 2020 Lexus GX 460 if they had updated the infotainment like they did with the 4runner. It has more creature comfort but the infotainment is outdated. I also like the look of it minus the barn door in the back.

Anyone notice that the SR5 premiums on auto trader also have that silver bar that runs across the top of the grill? I hope that is easily removed so I can pop on my faux pro grill for my soon to be 2020.

I would have gone for the GX 460 but that barn door was a deal breaker for me. I had a 3rd gen Rav4 with the barn door and I hated it.

Grill is no longer interchangeable with TRD Pro grill. Will keep the pro exclusive.
