It makes me laugh really hard how little this salesman knows about the new model. Especially the pricing, since Toyota released that information a month ago.

There are '20's everywhere. My daughter and I are going to look at a Blue ORP today in Seattle. So far, up here anyway, they are limited to a few per lot. Lot's of SR's and Limiteds, only a few OR's. That will keep changing obviously.

I bought mine 8/22/18. The 2020's showing up is almost exactly the same as when the 2019's showed up.

The Toyota USA website doesn’t even show that 2020 4Runners exist. I mean, Toyota *is* considered a major automobile manufacturer, right? I think Bollinger Motors could do a better job of rolling out the new models.

cars.com currently shows 'over 14 thousand' new 2019's on the lot in "all miles" from my location. Why push hard on 2020's when there is just a few changes with that many '19's sitting?

Just under 200 voodoo's still out there. 700+ 2019 pro's total.

Added the vin to toyota owners to see the build date (9/2019) and the options included/added. This one has a ton of optional accessories.

My TRDP has been at port since 8/20 and still in the processing status. The one linked here is not mine. I'm in Washington State.

And yet it has the standard roof rails and no PRO rack. I’ve been seeing dealers showing these vehicles and the few that have images are not even close to what the vehicle really is.

Heck, even saw one dealership showing pics of a 2019 claiming it was a 2020...but still had the old infotainment system...:smash:

Can confirm, I work for a dealer and we have no idea. We have a pipeline estimate date for the first Army green to be in October, but if its anything like the Supra has been, it'll be past that date.

Anyone notice that the SR5 premiums on auto trader also have that silver bar that runs across the top of the grill? I hope that is easily removed so I can pop on my faux pro grill for my soon to be 2020.

Yeah that doesn't even make sense, the existing upper grille is already replaced when changing to the Pro garnish so what's it matter?

I’d like to know this too. Also how is the quality of the JBL system? I’d hate to pay extra for that only to ultimately strip it and put an aftermarket system in.

I test drove a 2019 ORP with KDSS and it was pretty smooth but the guy at the dealer didn’t let me drive a TRDP even though they had like 10 of them on the lot. They also said they are marking up the 2020 TRDPs by 5-10k so that was enough to send me out the door and look for another dealer.

They know exactly what they are doing and if the objective is to maximize profit (e.g. give the uninformed masses more reason to buy out the remaining on-hand '19 models), then hard to say they are not doing a good job.

The people that know what they want have been able to order them and much like kids being forced to wait until Christmas morning while the wrapped gifts sit right there under the tree for many moons, we have gathered here to chatter impatiently about why we can't just open one early. Relax, Christmas morning will come soon enough :high5:

You didn’t think people should be so interested in 2020s because
1. the changes were so insignificant
2. there were thousands of 2019s to be had.

My ... wait, “outrage”? ... was that Toyota apparently had 2020s gathering dust on dealership lots but didn’t show that such things even existed on their website.

They had inventory that they weren’t really trying to sell. Most merchants keen to do business engage in the marketing and promotion of their wares.

I’m fairly certain that Toyota will, someday, acknowledge the existence of 2020 4Runners and may even lift a finger to promote them (no promises on that one), but having stock on hand that buyers can’t see on your website is a marketing failure.
