Just got home about about 45 minutes ago. I've been waiting since January of this year for a 4R TRDP, and switched my reservation to the 2020 as soon as I heard about Army Green and CarPlay/Android Auto.

Big shout out to Jess at Foothills Toyota for securing my TRDP on your 1st allocation.

I'll post some better photos when I have more time.

Some initial impressions about the exhaust. I drove about 45 miles home from the dealership; there's a slight drone sound from the cat-back exhaust. Obviously it's more noticeable if you're accelerarting or going up hill. However, I wasn't annoyed and neither were my kids. I was driving mostly 65-75 on the way home.

As I mentioned in my previous posts about my deposit; I paid MSRP. Also, I was taxed at the lower 8.5% rate in Burlington, WA (Skagit County).

Congrats brother!! Army Infantry here... I'll be wearing a matching hoodie too when I pick mine up.

How are the breaks? Someone mentioned that there is a big improvement.

I saw that comment as well about the brakes. I didn't notice anything really good or bad about it, but I'll need more time to get a better opinion about it.

My drive last night was all freeway and since it was late there was minimal braking/stopping.

I'll be able to provide a little more feedback today or tomorrow. My commute to work is short (6.5 miles), but it's all city (stop and go).

I have had pros with the plate on the bumper and others without. I hated the look of the plate on the bumper. Looks way better on the grill if your state has to have a front plate. I thought i was done with the 4runner but I'm getting army green fever lol

I specifically tell dealers to not put a plate on and I live in a two plate state and have never had a front plate on my vehicles and never gotten a ticket. Even when pulled over for other things, the police don't really care even when they know.

Check the vin look up. Probably mixed up pics with a '19 innocently, something I've noticed a bit on Autotrader. It happens. The VIN matches a '20, the pics don't, but doesn't mean the dealer is trying to mess with anyone. Or, not.

In my opinion, for $695, you'd be better served with some quality sliders... They look good and protect your 4Runner...

I specifically tell dealers to not put a plate on and I live in a two plate state and have never had a front plate on my vehicles and never gotten a ticket. Even when pulled over for other things, the police don't really care even when they know.

Unfortunately, here in the Republic of California, the dealer now has to have you sign a paper stating that your vehicle was delivered with a front license plate.

What do you guys think of the Predator Steps option for $695, is it worth it? I’ve got a deposit down on mine and originally took them off, but seeing the pictures they look really sharp on the Army Green so considering adding back in.

Looking sharp should not be the primary consideration. I saw some on Pros in person when I was shopping and noticed how limited they are in utility aside from the "sharp looks." Many with Pros want to off road and if you do seriously, then sliders are best. Otherwise If you are like me and do Mountain stuff/beach/road trips but not rock stuff, then best get tube steps because the predators are poorly lined up with the back doors and useless for stepping along the length of the cab when accessing a roof rack.

Then there is the fact that if you are buying from the dealer you are probably paying too much. Get it online from Toyota parts internet retailers or such. If looking cool is all that matters then by all means get them.

Question for you guys on options who have been around a long time. I have been posting on this forum for about six months now, and this will be our first Toyota purchase ever - 2020 TRD Pro in Army Green. Only other Toyota truck in the family is a 1988 Land Cruiser FJ62 owned by my brother (yes, pics of them together will be coming). The only options we have coming are the Predator Tube Steps (wife wanted them) and Black Rear Emblem Overlay (makes "4Runner" black). I also was going to tint the front windows to match the rears and NO front plate as well. Are there any other accessories or options that are worth it from Toyota? I looked into the protective film for the fenders, hood, and bumper but seems not worth it as that stuff needs to be replaced over time, which between the initial cost and eventual replacement , we can repaint the bumper, hood etc. for about the same or less should they get chips. Mind you, our 9 year old Grand Cherokee has only a few rock chips, so that isn't a concern. We plan to leave the truck stock and fair weather driven at least initially (have two other SUVs). Thus, no Ziebart or Rusty Jones type dealer add ons for us haha. We do plan to skip the paint protection, extended warranty, and what not. With the TRD exhaust, roof rack, and all weather mats included, I can't think of anything else to add...?

I'm not a long time poster, but had similar concerns when getting my 2020 TRDP. Here's my 2 cents, get the 4R stock to save a few hundred dollars. Have them remove the options at port. You can get the OEM/Genuine Blackout Kit for way cheaper on ebay.

At first, I thought we'd really want/need the predator steps. My kids are 8 and almost 10. And our other vehicle is a '07 GX470 which has the stock side steps and they use that all the time. We've only had the 4Runner for 2 days, but they aren't complaining about having to reach/step really high to get in.

If you do need or want it down the road, you can usually find it cheaper online. There's a local dealer around me that usually has cheaper/competitive pricing (15% off list) and then those coupons that Toyota randomly does applies as well (Toyota recently had a 10% off coupon, and on Labor Day they had 12%).

I priced out the predator steps on Labor Day and it came out to a little under $500 picked up in person. Shipping would basically negate the savings. And of course, the steps are just an appearance package and doesn't help with off-roading like sliders do.

For now, we're going without the predator steps unless the kids or wife start complaining. lol

I ordered my '19 Pro with the sliding cargo deck only. I really love that feature for many reasons.

My '19 Pro has the projected path. Which model did you test drive? I'd be really surprised to find that the projected path on rear-view camera wasn't standard across all trims.

My '16 XP had the projected path, too.

you can turn projected path n and off in options your test drive probably just had it turned off
