2020 TRD Pro Updates - Army Green & Push Button Start

I want.., no I need this:

My '19 Pro has the projected path. Which model did you test drive? I'd be really surprised to find that the projected path on rear-view camera wasn't standard across all trims.

My '16 XP had the projected path, too.

I test drove a new '19 Pro a week ago, and the dealer advised me that there would not be a projected path on the screen, and when I backed up, he was right. Nothing was there. No lines at all. But maybe this was an option that was turned off? Seems like a strange thing to turn off.

Radio and all.

Ah yeah. I'd really like to have that radio as well as the other features. Unfortunately trading in a vehicle again after only having it for less than a year is gonna start leaning towards wife-slitting-my-throat levels of insanity.

I’m really contemplating selling my ‘18 Jeep Rubicon Recon for a ‘19 TRD Pro. I just need something way more comfortable and I don’t want all the tech that is out there nowadays. I just need to decide between Voodoo and white. I love the Army Green, but I don’t want push button start. The only thing I wish the 4R had would be LED headlights.

I ordered my '19 Pro with the sliding cargo deck only. I really love that feature for many reasons.

I originally thought the sliding cargo deck looked stupid, but now I think it would provide a flat floor so I can sleep inside when I go camping with my dog.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if this is an option that is added on at the dealer level or is it done at port? I asked my dealer about it and he wasn’t even sure if it was an option that could be added for the TRDP and said he’d get back to me with more info but never did. I’m thinking it would be nice for tailgating but if it’s something that can be added on after the fact pretty easily I won’t push too hard for it.

Now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure there is a setting in the back up camera display that turns this on and off...

plus... you can load, unload heavy items much easier, and pull the cargo deck all the way out to sit on, like a tail gate.

It's an nice feature...

My dealer explained to me it was a port only option. I also wanted to add it (it wasn't on the original build sheet) but it was too late since the truck was scheduled to leave port the next day and I didnt want to wait another few months to get one with only that option installed.

I believe, from the very little reading I have done (so I can be wrong!) the dealer cannot install this and to get it after the fact the only way is to get one from someone with a 4runner who already has it installed and removes it.

Hope that helps!

The sliding cargo deck is a Factory installed option and cannot be added at port. If you want the sliding deck, you have to order it that way. Once it leaves Japan, it's too late. Unless, you want to go through the hassle and trying to install the sliding deck after you buy it.

When I was tracking/stalking other AG TRDPs to see what options people were getting, you could grab the VIN# to it, and add it to your Toyota Owners app or website login to view the specs. From there, you could see list of port or factory installed options. See screenshot for one I found just now.

Here are some pictures of my new 2020 Pro. I picked it up on Monday. Great drive home. Only 250 miles on the odometer, so I’ll save a review of my impressions for a later date. I’ll have to say that coming from a 2019 BMW X5, it’s been an interesting transition.

So far I absolutely love my pro, save for the gas mileage. I will say that the exhaust drone gets annoying quickly on the highway when the rpms are steady in fifth gear. Anyway, enjoy the photos.

I'd have a hard time spending that kind of money and not getting the updates. Others will disagree but that's just me.

I wonder if you could have a resonator to take some of the drone out
