Just got word. I can pick up my Army Green TRD Pro Saturday morning. I'm in Illinois. Deposit down in April 2019, at port 09/11/19, delivery 10/05/19 for those interested in timeline.

Finally picked up our Army Green on Friday. Went all the way to Idaho from Los Angeles to pick it up. Made a nice little road trip back, and after 1000+ miles on the 4runner the wife and I really like it. Here are some pics.

And sure enough, I am delayed to October 25th. FRIG. Trying to find the silver lining, I will have my wheels and tires ready to put on when the vehicle arrives!

Not a Pro, but I put a deposit down on a classic silver Off Road Premium this morning. It's somewhere in transit so I was able to avoid unnecessary port or dealer add-ons. Moon roof, Keep it Wild Savings are the only options. I'm excited to get it and start building it up!
They said it should be here to pick up in 2-4 weeks. I think that's wildly optimistic, but I'm hoping that's correct. Regardless, should have it for a family road trip to NM the week after Christmas to go skiing. I'm just hoping I can convince SWMBO that we need better tires by then. That of course, gets the ball rolling. Can't just switch to all-terrains, knowing that within the year we plan to go to a larger size. The larger size might require larger wheels, maybe a lift or BMC. I need to put a plan together and just get her to agree that I need to spend $x,000 and start ordering parts.

What is your opinion on the exhaust after all those miles?

Congrats! She's a bute! My expected delivery date is Oct 10-15th.For the most part I like the exhaust, on short RPM bursts it really roars but then quiets down. What I didn't like, and this may be more a problem with the adaptable cruise control, is when I would be cruising at around 70-80 mph at a steady 2k rpm, and then faced a slight uphill part of road, the RPM's would jump up to 3k rpm and stay there for a ridiculous amount of time, it wouldn't shift for, in my opinion, too long of a time. As a result, the exhaust was pretty loud for a long stretch of time. I personally didn't mind it too much, but my wife didn't like it. There were multiple times where I just cancelled the cruise control, the transmission immediately shifted to the correct gear, then would resume cruise control just to get rid of the exhaust note. So it was a little irritating.
In stop and go traffic, I love the exhaust, its nice pressing the accelerator and hearing the roar.
Brakes seemed fine. To be honest I never thought of the brakes the entire trip down. Never was there a time where I thought, wow these are good breaks! or on the other hand never thought "wow these are horrible breaks". I would just describe them as adequate, as they didn't wow me at all, but also didn't give me any trouble either.
I've never seen any concerns about 4Runner brakes until this thread. I don't really understand why anyone has concerns with them as they're plenty sufficient, even when trailering. And they sure as hell beat rear drum brakes like the Tacomas!
How are you liking the adaptive cruise control?
I drove a rental Camry with it and fell in love. Between that and the Android Auto, I almost want to see what the dealer will give me on trade on my 2019. But I figure it's not worth the cost, especially if a full redesign in the next 2-3 years happens where they finally add dual climate control and automatic headlights and I end up wanting to trade in AGAIN. Blows my mind they didn't add those features to the TRDOR Premium.
I just ordered a 2020 Venture, and it has both dual climate control and automatic high beams.
I think you buds up in Canada get a few different bells and whistles, eh?
New to 4runner but bought a 2019 (have yet to get it and not a Pro). This statement would seem accurate. Less trim options for Canadians - eg with the TRD Off Road there is no premium option they all just get moonroof, full safety sense and NO sliding cargo tray in the back. I think impossible to get the tray up here but did not check if limited or SR5 get it.

Has anyone seen those anti-collision third brake light mods on cars where it flashes/pulses like 4-5 times when the brakes get applied? It seems to get people's attention and maybe avoid being rear ended. Dealer offered to install that, but I think the price of $548.00 is way too steep. Thoughts? It is a good idea as we've been rear ended twice in our Grand Cherokee due to distracted drivers.
Bit off topic for a moment- but wanted to mention I had/have the same issue with my 2017 TRD OR with the transmission/cruise. I have had a lot of success by using the S mode on the transmission. On the freeway, shift over to S, and up one so the vehicle can use all 5 gears. It will show the gear in the gauge display-not sure how the display would show for the 2020 update. Far less of the sticking to what feels like the wrong rpm. It so perplexed me when I bought it-I did a thread to ask-there are several responses that might help. Obnoxious trasnmission behavior(or normal)?

It’s a gimmick. Don’t fall for it. The evidence behind them was from a sponsored study by the company. Even if there was legitimate evidence for a distracting flashing tail light, there is no reason to charge more than $500 for something that could be done with a simple in-line diode.
A dealer in my area puts it on every vehicle they have since it’s easy money for them. They won’t sell a car without it and use the phony sanctimonious veil of it being a “safety feature” to rip off their customers.
Went to go pick up my vehicle today. Their "detail" deeply scratched and swirled the entire vehicle. Showed the manager and he was pretty shocked. Now I gotta wait to see if they're gonna swap the vehicle for another one. Incompetence at the highest level. I'm royally pissed right now. Yesterday they did a credit pull when I told them before hand not to because I had a pre-approval. I could've looked past that if I got delivery today, but they somehow topped themselves tonight. They managed to destroy the first 2020 on the lot.
