2021 4Runner OEM LED Headlights/Lights Performance and Retrofit

Which is funny to see (people trading in quality OEM headlight assemblies for questionable Alibaba instagram headlights). I'm not aware of those companies making new headlights for the 2021 trucks. So, do they come with a retrofit harness to make up the difference? Someone is figuring it out (at least in that direction. Not sure about backwards compatibility of newer OEM lights in older 4Runners).

I have a 2021 SR5 premium and the low beam harness is different from previous models. I tried to install some alpharex lights and noticed that they don't fit. I called alpharex and they said that they are developing a new harness/adapter. So hopefully I'll be able to install them soon.

I don't know about cost.
The ones the lighting companies sell are Morimoto I think and are $95.
The one guy that I talked to that said "maybe" was selling them for Tacos for around half of that I think, so was going to point him at this thread.
I've suggested it to a few other vendors too, but no reply.

This is my 2nd 4runner just picked up a couple of days ago SR5 Premium have LED for Low beam & Fog Lights. High beam is Halogen, very disappointed. I also have a MAZDA CX9 Signature comparing with LED of MAZDA with 4runner low beam their lighting seems to be the same. I will try to take a comparison picture in the night. Overall lighting wise inside and outside disappointed in 4runner. I wish I can replace my High beam halogen and interior lights. anyone know any aftermarket for Interior that I can replace...?

They are too bright. No need for an aux light bar with them.
I just picked up a 2021 and I feel like an ******* driving at night.
So many flashes and I only have 52 miles on it.
If you are willing to meet up, I can take ya for a spin at night.
Shoot a PM and we can arrange if you want.
I am not far from you.
Meet up somewhere and we stay OFF 208, as the policia as crazy there even though there are no lights and you could see how bright they are.
Not driving it in the rain or snow till I get rust preventative sprayed.
If it snows, I won't drive it till after the next rain washes the salt off the terrible roads.
I don't want to add a cleaning step before spray time.

The swap to AlphaRex on a 2021 model has been done. A member on another forum that I have spoken to did it in December without a harness. He has some electrical knowledge but has said it’s doable with minimal modification.
I’ve been waiting to do the OEM LED conversion onto my 2016. When that happens (hopefully soon), I want to document it properly in hopes that it’ll help future conversions.
Until then, I’ll be surfing the forums to gather as much information as possible.

Yes. Don't go with LEDs.
Read this post.
LEDs make your effective distance of the lights worse. You are far better off with stock bulbs.

Yo, people: you have amazing quality headlights with factory LED lighting. Stop replacing them with flashy Chinese garbage.

I am about to order the 2021 led headlights
There are two versions. Can anybody clarify?
There is a small price difference. I am assuming one is Canadian version? What’s the difference between the two?
It looks like the mounting points are all the same.
I will update you guys when I start doing the install with photos and etc

Might have something to do with dot and reflectors ( usa vs Canada)
