If you see post #172 and #176 they look to be plug and play. I'm not seeing any "conversion module".

For me I would rather have a "conversion harness" aka pigtail instead of chopping into the wiring on the headlight assembly and changing the plug.

Why? If you're buying the low beam only LED headlights (all models except limited and TRD PRO), the DRL and high beam should function the same no?

yes you are correct. But I was quoting the post where he was mentioning the full LED setup of the TRD pro/limited...

The Pro/Limited use a bi-LED projector for low and high beams. And the DRL no longer uses PWM to dim the bulbs in the reflectors. Since the low and high beams function completely differently than the halogen equipped trucks, I'd venture to say you need some more custom wiring to be able to install those.

I believe it is that simple, Alex just installs a new plug on the LED low beam wiring harness.

It was nice getting some actual sunshine today! Moving back to Hawaii here in a few months, I will miss the beautiful PNW, rain and all.

Somehow I missed this.... It is NOT a complete plug and play as there is an adaptor needed... "a plug"!

Any indication what is this plug?

From talking to a person that has done this, for the non-Pro/Limited model (meaning just LED low-beam) it's very simple.

You remove the connector with the arrow below and replace it with a connector that matches the plug used on halogen models. Literally 2 wires and swapping a connector. Done.

Like our friend [MENTION=208721]mynameistory[/MENTION] says, for the Pro/Limited models it will be more involved. There was someone many posts back that was trying it, but they never reported back.

I've got some non-Pro coming and I'm going to make the swap. I don't really care about high beams because I installed a 20" BD S8 lightbar in the grille in between the headlights, so if I need more light I'm good.

Neither the Tacoma or the 4Runner have heated LED headlamps. You also have to remember that the window for snow buildup is rather narrow- you need heavy, wet snow near the freezing temperature. If it's colder and drier, it won't stick. Slush buildup tossed up from the road can be a problem though.

This is in Moab a year ago. This is why I went back to halogens and upgraded to H9’s. Halogen headlight and LED fogs.

Sorry I missed that, I would say though, the simple low beam LED upgrade would be well worth it if the BILED setup gets too complicated!

I will also add, I live in Canada and drove through a few snowstorm already this year where some snow accumulated at the front of the car, but snow accumulation on the headlights was not an issue.

So I’m not saying that it will never happen, but in Canadian winter conditions it’s not been an issue so far for me.

I have no clue. I grabbed that picture from way earlier in this thread ... someone else put it there.

You can see the conversion clearly here (also grabbed from previously in the thread). It looks friction-fit to me, but you could prob go look at your 4Runner for sure.

Thx. My 4runner is not available and is being worked on (right headlights, fender and bumper are wrecked) ...hence my questions about making the change now as they work on it.

I was trying to determine how/where to source that plug and buy new 2021 housings... or go with the gentleman that is selling lightly used 2021 housings.

At least we are almost certain the voltage is the same as pre-2021 models.

This workaround is very simple if one can determine what are the connectors. From my quick research, the pre-2021 plug is part# 90980-11255. I haven't found the 2021 plug.

So we have 2 options. Either make a short harness with corresponding female to female plugs (assuming we can find them). Or replace the 2021 plug with a part#90980-11255.

Correct me if I am wrong though ...

Hey guys, my name is Alex and I do Morimoto conversions to a bunch of vehicles, one of them is the new 2021 4Runners. I have a couple sets of the new LED headlights with matching LED fogs that have less than 100 miles on them and it sounds like some of you might be interested in purchasing them. Since I'm a new member, I cannot post in the classifieds yet. If any of you are interested, send me a private message with your phone number and I'll get in contact with you. This set I'm showing is off a Trail Edition so it has low beam LED and high beam halogen. The only modification necessary was to transfer the low beam connection from the Morimoto to the Toyota, that has been completed already. I would suspect that these should be plug and play now since the morimoto's just plug in to the 4Runners. We have installed a set into a 2017 halogen equipped model without any problems, but your vehicle may vary.

We are charging $1000 shipped for a complete set of headlights and foglights.

BTW, I just had a call with Alex, legit guy from a legit install business. He doesn't have any in stock right now, but he gets them relativement often. I would have bought his stuff as it is definitely an awesome deal.

Cool. Did you have to adjust the aim at all?

How about you [MENTION=142835]sato_toguchi[/MENTION] - did you have to aim?

I don't have sufficient space at my house ... where do you guys go to aim the headlights?

(And I have to say, the Toyota instructions are hard to grok ... )
