Yes if we are talking about the limited/TRD pro 2021 LED lights. But if the reply is in context to the sr5/trail edition LED lights where only the low beam is LED and the hi beam still uses a 9005 bulb then a 9011 bulb with out perform a drop in 9005 bulb.

I tend to disagree with you on that one. About the TRD pro/limited being superior as you won’t be able to change the DRL to led and the Highbeams itself just goes higher slightly.
Nobody cares about the highbeams much as the lowbeam is the most important thing for driving.
If you have a good output lowbeam, there is no need for highbeams. I don’t even need mine after converting to a 2021 Oem led headlights.
You should try it!

This is true, but the focus in the high beam reflector is much less critical than the low beam. It's less of a safety hazard because the reflector is designed to scatter light above the cutoff, and you won't be using them in opposing traffic anyway.
As Cheers said, a 9011 HIR bulb will outperform a replacement LED, but it sounds like you're more concerned about the temperature (color) of the light than performance.
This is true. Reports of the LED high beam of the dual projector model are very underwhelming. Large reflectors are more efficient than projectors so this isn't that surprising. People with the "lower" grade LED headlights actually have higher performing high beams.
I would... disagree. In day-to-day driving under city lights, with other traffic around, sure. Way out in the cuts? You'll appreciate a high beam that performs well. You'll appreciate auxiliary driving lights even more.
Red and blue are on top. I swapped mine with the oem toyota plug from the harness and it plugs directly in.

Single. I haven't seen anyone install the bi-LED into an older truck yet. And the high beam is lower performing then the halogen 9005 in the reflector anyway.

Only the lowbeam led headlights have been swapped in that we know of. I am sure somebody will figure out how to do the Trd pro/limited bi-led headlights. It appears the single leds shine farther and wider with an aftermarket led bulbs in the highbeams.

Anyone have a DIY guide yet or step by step instructions on how to put the single LED onto a 5th GEN with halogens?
Speaking specifically as to how they get the harness to work?
I'm considering buying a set but would like to know how to splice the harness to work on my 2016.

Not yet.... looking for the connector needed for the headlights - Toyota said it's not available but the chassis side one is. I'm doing more research to find a easy solution.

Super easy. Get some pre 2015-2020 headlights from a junkyard or etc and take the connectors off and splice them onto the 2021.
Or order them from the person on here that’s listed in my thread.

The harness your looking for only comes with the headlight itself.... only way you will get what you need will be off of another Oem headlight or aftermarket source like morimoto who is able to use their lights for the 2021 4 runners

Are you saying that only 2021 runners have the specific connector to make the oem leds to work ?
Can’t you just make some connectors? Can you post a picture of the said connector.

no, you need to take the connectors off a 2016-2020 halogen headlights and put that connector onto the 2021 headlights so your factory headlight chassis harness will plug into the 2021 headlights.....
Yes, you could make some butt connectors or jerry rig it to work. I did that initially before to see if the 2021 led headlights would even light up on a pre 2021 4 runner..... I returned those 2021 headlights and decided to purchase some already harness converted 2021 headlights for a lower cost......
