hi guys i have a 1991 4runner with a blown headgasket on the 22re . i went to look at a 1990 celica 2200 motor and i was wondering if it was posable to do a swap . thanks ed

Anything is possible, just depends on how much $ and time you want to sink into it. If you want to do an engine swap I would look at the v6 engines from 3rd generation 4runners/1st gen Tacomas. In the meantime, replace that headgasket, much easier and cheaper than an engine swap.

One way to identify potentially easy swaps is to look at what other models your transmission was used in, and then see what other motors were in those models.

Only potentially easy, though. You still likely have to make sure the motor fits, fab new engine mounts, hack a wiring harness, etc.
